I am convinced that many of the ECO owners suffer from SMS or Small Motor Syndrome. It causes insecurities that makes some of them them whine about gas mileage and look for ways to improve their motors. They just can't find way to make it bigger, so they talk alot.
A larger percentage of 5.0 owners are secure in their choice in having a larger motor and would rather drive than talk.

Why not? The FoMoCo recommendation is 5w-20. 0w-20 is not that far off during the cold viscosity temps.
I chose to use the 0w-20 for that the oil will flow towards the engine components easier/sooner than the 5w-40 while the engine is cold.
This truck will have many short trips in its life so having the 0w-20 made sense.
If I did a bunch of towing I would actually go to 0w-30
But dont get me wrong, both 5w-20 and 0w-20 flow great during cold operation.

Why do you guys think I should not use the 0 weight?
Thank you. Good read. But I already understand the importance of the first number, and the second number.
Oil weight is the same for 5w-20 and 0w-20..both are still same viscosity.

One Bad MoFoMoCo Owner
The best upgrade you can do for power if a tank of E85! It's also the worst thing you can do for mileage....
