Default 5.0 Resonator question

Does anybody know if removing the resonator that you will loss any torque at low end? I want to keep the exhaust stock and was looking at removing the resonator for a little more rumble but did not want to loss any power. don't fully understand the back pressure in the exhaust.

We took the resonater off our 2011 5.0 put a flowmaster super 44 on duals. Sounds good with a noticeable power gain

I removed the resonator first before doing the rest of the exhaust. Really didn't notice much of anything. Very little increase in rumble. Thought it would be louder than it was. Taking off that gigantic stock muffler and installing a Flowmaster Super 40 is where the sound noticeably changed. Didn't notice any difference in power at all from any of the exhaust changes. If anything changed, it wasn't enough to notice via the butt dyno.

On my 2011 I kept the resonator and did single in dual out 40 series flowmaster sounded good but wanted louder so next day had the res takin off. Sounded 100% better! Didn't notice any power gain or loss, but sounds badass!

I went by a local exhaust shop today and he said that if I wanted to cut off the resonator and put a pipe in then he would do it for around $75 but that it wouldn't be worth it because if I was to keep the factory muffler there would be no sound or power increase or loss. Maybe a little rumble but not enough to matter or notice. Don't know if he was trying to sell me a new muffler or being honest with me.

He was honest. You won't get much more sound with just a resonator...
