actually we raced when we first got the trucks and we held about dead even, I was even quicker down low, but yea i know the tires are huting me bad, I may go to 4.10s but I had just read on here that people were saying flowmasters chambered design hurt these trucks one guy said he even took his back off, just wondering if anyone reallly knew becasue the stock muffler and resonator are gone and they were huge...

I cant beleive that just a flowmaster is more restrictive than the factory res and muffler. Couple of the 5.0 trucks that have good times posted are running flowmasters. The trail grapplers u have are an inch taller and atleast 20lbs heavier than stock, that is your problem. Those tires look good, but are goin to hurt acceleration, but if u insist on having your cake and eating it to then find more power. Gears, forced induction, or spray it.

the stock muffler and res are both straight through design. flowmaster is chambered. at low rpm and low flow rates, the flowmaster may actually be better because of its scavenging effects, but at wide open throttle when it need to flow its best, the straight through design of the stock parts may actually flow BETTER than the flowmaster. chambered mufflers are actually some of the worst flowing of any muffler design, but they just sound so dang good on certain engines that they were the go-to for performance applications for quite a long time.

The tires are most likely hurting you more than the flowmast but yes top end power is sacrificed on an engine like this. If it was a low revving engine then it wouldn't be a big deal but these engine scream so it's a factor for sure.

A zex kit from a 2011 GT mustang works great and you can run a 75 shot without changing plugs or timing but always run good 93 octane or a octane booster at the track.you will get more low end TQ than you need and should pick up about 3/4 of a second if you spray from the hole.

Just a suggestion, just like in the Ecoboost 1/4 mile thread pictures of slips should be posted to keep every one legit. Not calling anyone a liar at all! It just keeps it so if someone gets bumped down they know it was legit. I know this is what most the other forums I am on require.

Peace out and keep running them hard

I have a quick question guys. The offroad pro series turndown magnaflow, any of you heard it or have it on a 5.0. What am i looking at as far as sound and performance go if i put this on my fx4? I dont want it to sound like a pulpwood truck, just a louder deep hum and growl. Plus with what all im fixing to be getting the turndown is more affordable than the full cat back system. What would yall recommend?? If its not this its to an afe or mbrp exhaust.
