Default 5.0 plus e85 ecokiller!

Looking at this dyno and then adding the 15 horsepower and 10 pounds of torque from E85 you will quickly see the 5.0 in a RCSB is the fastest stock truck Ford offers .

Even though I know this whole thread is just Loki seeking attention, I still feel compelled to point out that if you use this same-day, same-condition dyno comparison http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2011/04...8-engines.html , and assumed the Ford gains are at the wheels (they are not), then the Eco would still have a 2 hp and 65 ft-lb advantage even with the 5.0 on race gas. I think a 2 hp and 65 ft-lb disadvantage wouldn't exactly qualify it as an ecokiller. Heck, even by the first dyno linked, a 10 hp advantage doesn't exactly make anything a killer.

If you are calling that sham where the Ford engineer spent 7 hours getting the ECo numbers and then turning around and using the ECO set up on the 5.0 you are more biased than I thought . Dammm the torque converter was not even locked up on the 5.0 on that run. You will see at around 4100 RPM that the ECO torque nosedives and the 5.0 is still flat it does not take a genius to see the 5.0 walks . Given my 5.0 smoked my buddies ECO on regular gas , and kicks butt on e85 and the fastest 1/4 mile times so far are RCSB 5.0's their really is not much of a argument here. For the time being the 5.0 is the fastest F150 , but with the tuners coming on line it will be interesting.

Yes, of course, you can pick apart any dyno test you want. I read that dyno test in detail, and they spent 7 hours experimenting with the EB to get accurate low-end torque numbers, which will NOT at all affect the top end hp of the 5.0. The one you posted wasn't great either. And if you think street racing on the 3rd honk is a conclusive test, you are less experienced than I thought. I think somone ran a low 14.3 in a stock Screw Ecoboost - what's the fastest an all-stock 5.0 truck ran? And with at least two ~400 rwhp bolt-on ecoboosts on the road, it will be intersting to see what they when sorted out at the track.

I raced an Eco with a lift and large tires. Both same configuration and he rapped me. We even went from a 30mph roll to minimize torque advantage.

Not having the TC locked WILL in fact affect top end HP of the 5.0. If we are comparing bolt ons the ECO will loose this war; 444 @ 7,400 rpm (Hi-Po 302 V8) and we have not added much yet.

Some trucks run and some don't.
