Just wanted to post my real world mpg. This is not an "omg I get the best mpg right after I fill up for the first 5 miles" bs that I've seen. Just finished a 2400 mile round trip starting at 1,700 miles on my new engine. Normally I get 16.5mpg with mixed driving. Just ran from Houston to ok to kansas then across to Colorado to the mountains and back and averaged 18.3mpg sometimes as high as 19. Pretty happy. Did the same 2 years ago in my 2007 4.6 and got 16 (both supercabs). Love the new engine! Half of the trip was at 85mph half at 75mph FYI.

I get around that. During the week I average around 18 ish depending on the wind. It drops to 15-16 on my days off running around town.

About what I get too. When my 19 year old son drives it drops about 2 mpg. If I keep it below 75 I get about 21 mpg. At 70 I get 22-23 mpg

It's strange, my 5.0 screw gets 18.8 from Houston to baton rouge, and it gets a full 21 and change on the trip back to Houston, winds and elevation change is negligible, cruise set 75 with the usual construction and traffic slowdowns both directions. Anyone understand this little phenomenon?

That is strange. Maybe hot air coming from the capitol. I'm going to Baton Rouge this Friday, coming from the east, I'll check coming and going mileage to see if it changes.

Just got my FX2 Thursday and I'm happy with the mileage so far. I never had a full size truck get this good of mileage, ever, and I have had plenty of them ranging from 5mpg to 15mpg. I'm on my first tank and with mixed driving it is getting 18.7.

I'm getting 18-19 mixed driving and have seen it as high as 20.7 on a long trip.

Loving my 5.0 so far!

I just rolled over 5K on my 5.0 4x4. Trip B has never been reset and through my first 5K miles of stop and go city, country road, highway, towing and mountains I'm at 18.9 MPG.

After rolling over 8000km on my 5.0 super cab rwd I'm getting just over 12.3 L/100km (19 mpg) that's with about 70% highway driving at 100 km/h. On long drives at a steady 110 - 120 km/h I've seen my mileage up to 10.7 L/100km (22 mpg) L/100km. Great engine, love the power and the sound! Very happy I went with the 5.0L.

My short trip, city mileage can sometimes blow, buy the highway mileage for this motor is awesome. I think we should stop this thread right now! Keep it our dirty, little secret.
