Ok, how do I take back my thank you that I have you on that one thread... Just kidding.

Not true, there are way more posts on here complaining about their EBs mileage than raving about it. Just echoing what's posted.

Really, people who own ANY Ford engine in this generation F150 are lucky. They all get better mileage, have alot more power, and are alot more dependable than any prior generation gasoline truck engines from any maker.

Really, it's splitting hairs, as to which is better, for what reason.

The facts are, must people who have picked out whatever engine it is they have, they like for their reasons, and all that matters is that they like it at the end if the day.

I regularly pull 13mpg when pulling that kind of weight - I'm runnning 3.55 gears and a 5STAR tow/perf tune.

Why are we buying full size trucks to tow with, then always talkin about fuel milage? Sell the truck, and the trailer, and get yourself a wrong wheel drive.

The reason we talk about fuel economy is simple, so we know what to expect from our trucks. It can also help plan for a long trip so we can estimate the among of money we need to put aside for fuel. Thanks for all the post. It has given me a ball park figure for towing economy.

With two wheel drive and the air dam still in place. Getting 20.5 to 21 if I only hit 70 or more occasionally by accident goes to 11.8 to 12.6 over the same interstate with strap on tow mirrors, sixth gear turned off and a trailer somewhat heavier but shorter and lower (Than described in post #1). I would also probably average a few miles per hour slower. That is for a little bit of up and down maybe occasionally popping down to fourth just a few times per tank of fuel. I would probably have about a third of a full load in the passenger compartment and bed combined in both cases.

Just picked up my new 2013 Bullet 286QBS. Dry weight 5200 lb, loaded around 6000lbs. I got 11 mpg or 21 litres per 100km.

According to the EPA, you should expect to use over 30% more e85 than pure gas, and the e85 combined rating of the 5.0 is 13 mpg (without a trailer). I'm pretty sure you would wind up around 8 mpg towing that trailer on e85.

Furthermore, pickuptrucks.com tested the 5.0 vs eb towing mileage at 9000 lb and the 5.0 won by 1 mpg while pulling a v-nose trailer (the eb had to contend with a flat nosed trailer).

I won't bother boring anyone with the math, but I think you get the idea.
