I make frequent trips from Oklahoma to Houston and run 70-75 and get high 17mpg. Only time I got into the 20mpg range was going 55ish thru construction. I have been running 93 octane in my truck and haven't really seen any improvement. I drove my truck off the lot with 200 miles on it and now it has 7000 miles on it. The mileage has stayed the same.

'13 XL Regular cab 5.0 6.5' bed with 3.31 e-lock. Was averaging about 17.5 overall, and usually got around 19 hwy but that's doing 75-80 staying with the idiots. Towing 5,000-6,000lb loads it gets 12-17, depending on terrain, speed and other variables. I won't complain.
I installed a soft roll-up Truxedo cover last week and my readout is now 19.3 average. I kept it over 21.8 (even hit 22.5 for a little while) hwy running 75-80 for a couple hundred miles yesterday. This truck's sweet spot is 50-55 though. If I can keep it there and play with the go pedal right, it gets stupid good mileage, but good luck staying 55mph very long in GA with some of the clowns we have on the roads here.
A 5.0 in a regular cab short bed is very fun though, and can get very poor mileage if you keep your foot down.

I'm getting the best mileage out of all of the them with my 2012 F150 5.0L truck. This truck is great with great mileage, just below par reliability.

I did a little towing thru the mountains with my truck. My trailer is about 4k. The way to my destination, I was driving uphill at 50-60 mph. On the rolling roads, 70-80 mph. There was some around town driving too and up more mountains in the snow. The way back was snowy and used 4wd for a hundred miles or so. Once the roads dried, I was back up to 65-80. My average mpg was 11.1. I'll accept that given the conditions and that I went over about ten mountain passes ranging from 10,000 to 12,000 feet high.
