Stock 5.0L, 8930 miles, combined avg. mpg ( mostly highway w/cruise at 64 mph ) = 18.5 mpg w/ summer blend 87 octane ( 10% ethanol ).
BTW, this is US gallons. This thread is confusing with many people posting without differentiating between US and Canadian measurements.

I'm getting around 15.5 in town on a 2013 screw 5.0. That's real milage, my dash consistantly reads .5 to .7 MPG more than actual milage.
I used to get about 14.5 on my 2012 screw 3.7L.
EPA milage tests for city driving don't simulate diving in any city that i've ever been in. I go for months without exceeding 50 mph.

My 1988 supercab 5.0 got 13 MPG (it had 360,000 miles on it). If I drive this truck for 150 years, it will have paid for itself! A 20% improvement in fuel economy in 25 years doesn't seem like anything to brag about.

seems like you guys are getting about what an eco gets in town but you are easily beating me on the highway MPG factor.

With 20K miles, mine has settled into the low 16's. If I keep it around 65 it will get about 18 on the highway, but drops at any speed greater than that. Seems like no matter how much city vs highway I'm always around 16. I expected more, but at least my employer pays for my gas.
I got about 1-2 mpg's more with stock tires, but I only went up one size to 275/60/20, Michelin LTX2's.

Last trip to Corpus and back, averaged 16.5 mpg.

That was cruising 85 mph most of the way there and back, idling 30 minutes waiting on the ferry to the island, and idling for an hour while in the grocery store shopping so the dog would stay cool.

Pretty happy with those results, given the circumstances.

My experience between the 5.0L and Eco mileage wise is nothing (except the 3.7L I'm sure) will touch an Ecoboost at 60mph on flat level ground. I averaged 17.0MPG with my Ecoboost, and my lifetime on the 5.0L is 17.2MPG.

Hunting season is starting soon followed by the winter, so I'm sure that will start killing my mileage with hauling stuff around and idling through the woods. I thought I attached a picture of this on the previous page, but I guess it either vanished or no longer works. I'm also interested when I put on a set of P-Rated tires to see if I will get better mileage. I'll be putting a set I picked up on after the winter.
