Will do. Part comes in on Friday Sept 2nd and will be installed on Saturday if all goes well. The MagnaFlow cost me only $68.31 w/free shipping to my home and is a Stainless Steel muffler. Got it online from Advance Auto Parts with a current promo of 20% off.

If you or anyone else is interested PM me your email as you get 40% off your first order if I refer you....not sure what the details are but you never know.

Edit: I did leave the resonator in and will most likely do it with the new muffler. I didn't want it obnoxious...

Ok, I did narrow down the rpm range for the drone. It is 1600-2000 rpm's. Wife also commented on how bad it was...

Has anyone removed the resonator with an 18" Magnaflow? If so, was there any drone?

hey guy's i have a 2011 5.0 and have the afe intake with 5 star tune! the thing has good grunt to it but i would like a little more growl. not obnoxious loud but just a little more noise when i punch it. i really don't want any drone as i have 35's along with that afe intake so i get some cab noise now. i was thinking of either going magnaflow muffler or maybe just taking the resonator out and adding a piece of pipe.

what do you guys think!

Taking the resonator out may reduce your low end torque. The engine does need some back pressure. I am leaving my resonator in and putting in a MagnaFlow. MagnaFlow even states to leave the resonator in due to loss of low end torque if removed.

Interesting. I have a drone that I could do without and my wife also doesn't like it.

Can that be fixed with a change in the tune?

Good question but I doubt it. The drone is caused by the muffler and frequency range where it resonates at certain pressures from the exhaust so I don't think a tune could change that. Maybe someone who has had the drone and added a CAI afterwards would comment if it changed anything?

Right now the FlowMaster sounds nice but the drone is unbearable. After reading many. many posts a lot of people seem to like the MagnaFlow better not only for little to no drone but the sound is deeper but not louder than a FlowMaster.

I have 2 MagnaFlows coming in on Friday one is a 14" and the other an 18" and I am tossing both around. I am only doing a SISO system with everything else stock. I will post when it is complete and which muffler I went with.

I think you'll be happiest with the 14". Love my Magnaflow. It will sound better as it breaks in as well.
