Long story short, had the misfire in heavy rain, first time it has happened. Scheduled the TSB to be done Monday along with the plugs and coils being checked out. Will let you know how it works out.

Let us know bk117 how it goes. Several Ford dealers in the US and Canada are now correcting the issue at the source.
Here is an example...Rhineland Ford in Manitoba does a good job (Contact, Joe
Or Sarasota Ford in Fl, Cumberland Ford in KY, etc.
They are correcting the issue at the source and no reducing the CAC's effectiveness, etc.

Just a guaranteed fix....and I gave a major Ford dealers info that fixes this and can attest to it doing as claimed, I haven't tried to sell him anything.
What is it you do for a living again? NOT working as an automotive engineer...just someone that is a keyboard expert. Over 40 years in the industry I share knowledge of.

But for this, let's stick to statistics. After all, you clearly value experience. And on this one my publication list can be provided upon request. I've also participated in peer review of numerous technical grant proposals and journal submissions
So let's just say that data is my thing. Observations from the forum and personal experience shows an extremely tight correlation between weather and the problem. I wish I had fords data to do a good analysis. But none the less, it appears true.
I'll trust the anecdotal observations on this one due to sheer frequency. The problem is directly related to atmospheric moisture based on forum posts related to having the problem.
So I just point it out then post your own words denying the facts as i and most others see them and people can make their own decision. The ball is in your court. Continue denying the observations of the majority with the problem and I'll continue pointing it out. Or you might sit down and spend a few hours of that expert auto engineer time figuring out why your claims do not match observations. I don't need to come up with a theory. Ford and physics did that for us in the response to the nhtsa. The one selling a fix that is contrary to the accepted facts does. Good luck.

I just traded in a 13 5.0 and picked up a 2014 Eco and was reading through this thread. I do have the deflector on the top. Build date was 11/13 Should I leave it alone unless it has a problem or remove the deflector? I have a tune from 5star that I plan on uploading in the future. Does a tune make any difference on this issue?
Also did ford ever fix the spark plug gap or should I check them?
Sorry guys just getting up to speed.

My 13 has a plate on the top front, it will be removed per a TSB and the PCM reflashed on Monday. The only reason I am having it complied with is because I drove thur heavy rain for hours on end and the truck experienced the shutter and limp mode. Prolly not the fix but get the air to the turbos cooler for now.
