3.5L Ecoboost New Misfire Fix TSB Jan 2014
So Ford has finally come up with a calibration they believe will fix the misfire issues during damp rainy conditions. This new TSB was released the end of January. The best part about it is that they want us to take off all those air blocking plates from past tsb's which should bring back the coolers efficiency. Now this is only for the 2013-2014 models but hopefully soon enough there will be the same calibration fix for the 2011-2012 F150's. I also clarify the air cooler engineering numbers for all model years!

Edit: TSB number in vid, my bad

I am very intrigued as I have been wanting to remove the plastic, but didn't want to experience the shudder.

Will this mean I will gain a little more power since their cooler is being less restricted. And I wonder what they did with the new PCM update. Mabey adding more boost to move the air in there around more.

This is interesting for sure. I wonder thought, I have a 2013 and has the top deflector and the AD CAC model. Last week I had the PCM updated for another issue to the latest code. Would the PCM code be different for different TSB's? Since I wasn't in for this issue they never removed the deflector. Wondering if now I should just remove it?

I really hope this brings some resolution to all the users out there.

Yea I bet there is more boost under light throttle to not let condensation build up...

I fixed my miss fire at WOT when I replaced my plugs to SP-534 gapped at 0.30. I do still have every now and then a slight hiccup and stumble under load at lower RPM when the motor is bogged a little. I hope there is a fix soon for the all of us

boy they cant make up there mind, first it was put plates on and now off. I would be real interested in what there PCM update is accomplishing and how it is changing the trucks performance before I would do any TSB. Guys have already reported detuned trucks when a PCM has been performed..

The first thing I did when I bought my '13 was removed those retarded air blocking plastic covers. I gapped my plugs to .028 and never once had a problem, apparently either I'm smarter then a Ford engineer or there stupid with no common sense. When I get a tune that will be better then anything Ford is gonna do so I have no worries.

If anyone has it done and your fuel economy increases let me know as most with '13's are getting less fuel economy than previous model years

I've already emailed my Service Tech about this TSB (14-0017) this morning and I'm waiting on his response. I'll post back with his comments.
