Doesn't the newer CAC have something different internally?

Stop this from entering it in the first place and there is nothing else needed as far as reduced power, etc. And even with this latest TSB the core issues allowing all that water and unburnt fuel in is still there. Until the PCV system is modified to properly evacuate at all times like most engines, all these TSB's are bandaids at best, and do not address this in the crankcase diluting the oil:

I'm curious what the strategy code changes to when you do this TSB and if SCT supports it yet.

Yes, it seems on the 13's fuel economy sucks worse.... oh and did I mention the fan is always on when using the AC It seems the mid to later 13's were programed to keep the fan on all the time.

I removed the shields on my 13 as well. Never had the shutter issue though.

Would like to no more about the new update as well before I do it.

Given Fords history on this issue over the last 2 years and my experience with it on my '11...I would be very very hesitant to let Ford reprogram the ECU...it will cause you headaches. Wish I would have never let Ford try and take care of it...because not only did it make the truck a POS in stock form...it did not play well with aftermarket either. Go straight to aftermarket parts such as intercooler, catch can, tune, and performance spark plugs. My truck is finally starting to come together.

For those that are OK with the risk...good luck

Are dealerships required to perform 14-0017 or only needed to be done if you are experiencing misfires?

I have put in a request for more information from the Ford Engineers at the Tech Hotline through my dealer channels on as to what has changed in this new calibration update with this new tsb. I should receive a response tonight hopefully they give us the goods.

If the TSB were a real FIX the plug gap would be returned to 0.040.....

When they say remove the top deflector is that just the front top or the piece that is on top and curves to the back as well? IE do you remove both top pieces? I hope that makes sense?

If the new firmware can be designed/written to prevent boost at the CAC inlet in cruise mode and still keep the turboes spun up right to, but NEVER beyond, the cusp of producing boost pressure then the condensate will not form with low to moderate, no boost, throttle positions.

Then the CAC can be returned to FULL efficiency, no de-rating via blockage of cooling airflow required.
