Stick a name brand 5w20 oil conventional, semi synthetic or full synthetic and go by the OLM or 5000 miles for service after breakin I personaly use full synthetic oil in my truck as a preferance. AS for oil useage I have seen several posts on this forum about 5.0 oil use some say it is a problem others say it stops after break in. I have a 3.5 and its never used any oil

Depends on what you are going to do for an OCI. If you are going to do 5k - 7.5K OCI then I would buy whatever name brand oil that is on sale (M1, PP, PU, QS etc) Also MC syn blend is an excellent oil as is the GT1 blend. G-Oil is FAR now and Pennzoil has a $25 rebate. (check the web sites)

If you are trying to keep your warranty just stick with motorcraft semi and synthetic oil and filters.
Its good stuff.

If your warranty is already gone, like mine, I would go with a top quality synthetic. Like, Royal Purple and Redline.

Stay away from Fram filters look at anything by WIX (NAPA) K&N and Royal Purple.

You can use any oil really, as long as you maintain good OCI

Check out this site, http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ Everything you could know about oil

The Motorcraft Synthetic Blend that comes in it is actually pretty good stuff, especially for the price. With that said, unless you're going to beat the crap out of it or go over 7,500mi OCI that would be fine otherwise Mobile 1, Royal Purple, or any other name brand synthetic...It's not like it was some moons ago when you had maybe ~5qts in the motor vs ~7.7 nowadays...

Buy a good brand name oil thats available in your area.....there's lots to choose from.....opinions about oil are just like b-holes everybody's got one and some think theirs is the best................I use QS full synthetic mainly because ...one I've run QS oil for over 30 years in everything i've owned with great results and not one engine oil related problem ever and wally world sells a 5 quart jug for just 20 bucks and always use a good oil filter like a MC...for the money its as good as you need for a street driven truck...you can spend alot more for a filter, but the results won't change in the long run.

Can't go wrong with Motorcraft 5w-20 Syn Blend with the MC filter. 7.7 qts required.
