My dealership never goes for test drive, and they let you take them home over night. I just don't want to wait 8 weeks to order one from the factory. Just after reading about engine break in for the ecoboost, makes me concerned for almosy 1/3 of engine break in period I don't know how its been driven.

My 2011 was a trade from another dealership with 282 miles. My 2013 had 18. Didn't have any issues with my 2011 and my 2013 has been flawless.

So from what I'm gathering, it seems anything over 50 miles would be excessive for one that was special ordered.

If you special ordered it for yourself, it should habe about three miles on it from moving it around during transportation. Once in a blue moon, they grab a truck off of the assembly line and run it through its paces as a quality control check. When they do that it will have about 40 miles on it and you will be left a note from the factory stateing that this was done. More than 50 is excessive if you special ordered for yourself.

Dealer offered me $1.70 per mile. I think that is fair. Im not concerned about the milage just if it would really harm the vehical if it wasn't driven as per the break in procedure for the first 285 miles. ill follow it for the rest. Would that really harm it? What would be the harm done to the truxk if proper break in procedure isnt followed?

picked my 13' up two weeks ago with 9miles on the clock.

I don't see any problem with yours having that much. I almost bought the "dealer special" they had on the lot which had 354miles on it which they used for all the drives including mine. But it was the Kodiak Brown color so I passed.

It would be hard to get one with fewer than ten miles as part of pdi technician is suppose to drive about 1/2hour then check for leaks etc you would be more likely to have the test drive skipped in a flat rate shop easy money for tech!

Mine came off the truck with 3 miles on it, 17 when I picked it up the next day after they did the PDI and drove it across town to get the bedliner sprayed.

Mine came into the dealership the day before I bought it. Only 10 miles on it before the 20 mile test drive.
