It took 13 minutes 22 seconds for the first 11.2 miles of your 30+ mile trip. This is 50.9 miles per hour.......................
Or somewhere 50.3 or.4 ..................................

I just wanted to share this with those where interested since this thread speaks of 26+ MPG being possible. If you like it, great, if you don't, sorry. Its getting tiresome and I'm unsubscribing now. Have fun blasting me because I'm moving on.

Do ppl flame others because they get crappy mpg ? Maybe it's because a computer makes you feel safe enough to argue.
I'm just asking. I see a lot of folks calling others out over a post that's showing he got 26+ mpg over a 30 minute trip. We should assume all
conditions were perfect, and leave it at that.
My 19.6 was over 288 miles and my avg speed is uncertain but over the week it was probably 5 - 6 hours of driving. When I fueled up it stopped at 14.7 or 14.8 gallons but I just put 15 gallons in it.
If he got 26 rolling down a hill and posted it I'm happy for him. As long as he's happy we should let it be. I'm happy with my truck even if it's avg 11 mpg.

Not disputing 26+ mpg is possible.
We believe you Trey K. That range of mpg is possible as long as you don't confront the aerodynamics monster. It is like swimming into a stream of water that is flowing slow and gently. It is easy to remain stationary in the water. If it rains an inch or more, the water rate increases and you have to fight the water to not get swept downstream.
Air works in the same way. It is a gas whereas water is a fluid but they both have identical flow properties. When you do around 50 mph, your truck is not using as much energy to punch through the atmosphere. If you accelerate to around 70 mph hour, things change, like the faster running stream and your truck uses alot more gas to overcome aerodynamic drag.
You will never get your onboard computer to show anything near a 26 mpg average at a sustianed 70 miles per hour over distance. Without aerodynamic improvements to your truck it is physically impossible. I get 26 mpg at 68 mph for hundreds of miles with the aerodynamic devices I built for my 2009 4.6 liter six speed tranny with a 3.31 rear axle ratio. It is not a true SFE. I bought that sticker and put it on.
I bet an ecoboost may well see 27 to 28 with these aero devices on it.

I do not do as well as that. I only get 21.7 running from Gallop, NM to Carrollton, Texas in my 2010 F150, 5.4 L, 351, 6speed auto, and one fill-up on the way and that was not exactly 30 min.

The best I got on the thruway at 65-68 miles an hour was 20.1.average is 18 around home.Towing a 8000 lb travel trailer was another thing 7.2 average.pulled the trailer was great pulled the hills no problem shifted nice rode great looks nice too
