Just to add some relevant info to this thread, the TB died in my 2013 ecoboost yesterday morning (same p2112 code, limp mode, etc.). 97,xxx miles. Dealer replaced under extended warranty. It cost me $100 deductible, but id rather it be documented by them that it failed and they replaced it.

Default Same deal

My '14 EB 4x4 just did the 'limp mode' thing for the second time, last time was a couple of months back. I was lucky to be in a good spot both times, that could definitely be dangerous. I pull a travel trailer in the Rockies on the weekends...not a warm and fuzzy feeling having the next failure looming.

No doubt it's the TB, a million posts on it all pointing the same direction. I'm at 62K, so just out of warranty (shocker). Even if I wasn't it's just one of the PITA deals where they can't duplicate, even though they should know damn well what the deal is and just replace it. I just talked to my service writer, asked him if there was a recall or extended warranty on this issue...no and no. The video below (not crazy about this guys videos, but...) suggests that the electronic unit is the usual culprit, and is available separately. I gave the parts guy my VIN and he checked...no. The good news is that the TB appears to be a piece of cake to change, and Ford's price is 'only' $193. If Rock Auto or others have it for less, even better. This is a scary issue safety wise. I feel like the path of least resistance is to just change it myself.

If anyone has had luck getting Ford to step up after 60K, please share.

Default Update....

I probably jinxed myself. Camping this morning, got up to drive to the lake, did it three times in a few miles. Ford dealer an hour away has a TB, decided to try to drive down and snag it. Worst case, if things go south on the trailer drag home, I've got it onboard and can change it roadside. No problems on the round trip to the dealer. Tempted to do it here at the campground, just nervous about some random bs breaking in the process and not being near parts. Hoping to get home ok and change it there. In retrospect, when I was in town to get the part I probably should have parked at Pep Boys and swapped it out.

Out with the old, in with the new today. (Limped on me earlier today) We'll see what the next weeks/months bring.

Was up in Idaho for the eclipse, leaving the beach Sunday my 2014 XLT 43K miles died with the P2112 code. Happened 3 more time on the way to return a rental kayak.

Happened twice on the 400+ mi drive home. Once in town after a stop for dinner and once on I-15 @ 70mph. Managed to get it to the side and restart....merging back into heavy traffic with a 5K HTT was not fun!

Happen again today driving the trailer around the block.

Appointment at the dealer tomorrow morning.

Glad I bought the premium care ESP.

Is the throttle body not covered under the 100k power train warranty?

Seems like it should, but apparently not.

The throttle body is covered. Mine went bad and was replaced by Ford under the 100K mile powertrain.

Factory Powertrain warranty is 60K...

Throttle body is not covered...

However, my understanding is that Ford offered an extended warranty for the throttle body on 2009-2012(?) vehicles.

And apparently recalled 2015-2016 F-150 for ETB replacement...

Unfortunately, mine is a 2014...

Yes, mine was covered under the extended powertrain warranty, but that should also be covered under the regular powertrain.

You'd think so...but you'd be wrong.

The list in my post is direct from Ford's warranty guide as to what's covered in the powertrain warranty.

Interestingly, ETB is listed as covered under the emissions group of the Ford Premium Care ESP.
