I'd be more willing to bet that your issue is the transmission. If you'll notice it will hold third until you stop then drop to first. If you gas on it it will accelerate then downshift causing the sudden acceleration.
In early '11 they didn't do this but customers complained about the downshifting making the truck feel like it was bumping or learching coming to a stop. Early flash files would downshift 3rd, 2nd, then 1st as you stopped, basically keeping the gear right for the speed for you to go back into acceleration, but people are weird and didn't like all the shifting especially coming from 4 speeds to 6.

15k miles on my ecoboost with no issues of "lag","missing" or Crappy mpg. Maybe opening the exhaust or adding the intake helped with my truck. IMO the v8 sound is doesn't appeal to me anymore. I had ls1 with headers for too long i guess! I love the screaming v6 of my Eco-boost! Sounds different and confuses the hell out of ppl who dont know what it is. And especially when they cant pass me ! haha

That is one of the reasons why I don't come by as often as usual. It gets tiring because they are all great motors. Ford doesn't have an inferior motor in their truck lineup. For people to constantly turn these threads into dick waving contests about who has the better dick and which dick is limper than the other ones is seriously getting old. Size doesn't matter, it is all about how you use it. I love all the motors except for the 3.7 since that wouldn't have enough power to satisfy my lead foot cravings, but I will still admit and say that the 3.7 is an excellent motor. I love my 5.0, but I can see myself getting the EB next time around because of the awesome low rpm torque it makes.
Boy I sure do get a kick out of reading threads like this one. A guy decided to share his real world experiences of the EB and 5.0 (and is complementary of both!) and the thread turns to crap.
I have owned and driven Fords for 28 years and have been driving F150's straight since 2002 so I think I have a good baseline of how they perform. I have had straight 6, push rod V8's, 4.6, 5.4, 5.0 and now EB and I can say for me the EB is light years better than any of the ones I had before. Now this is my opinion based on my real world driving experience and I'm not asking for your input so do us all a favor and ..........
This is a F150 Forum for Christ sakes. The point of Forums like this if for us F150 LOVERS to post pictures of our babies, give and get ideas of what to do next and to share our experiences and knowledge of F150's.

I for one am not lol. I love Ford in general and totally enjoyed all my past engines. I see it the other way around. I feel like non EB guys talk **** about EB guys which is completely ridiculous. Not because I have an EB, but because its the kind of thing high school punks did in high school. We all drive Fords here and that is all that should matter. I for one love my EB and that's all I am saying. I also loved my past F150's.

I'm not rabid or hostile towards any other engine, I just like my Ecoboost. But I also, (and almost equally) love the 5.0. In fact, if I had to get a new truck right now I'd have a very hard time choosing between the two.

If you say the 5.0 doesn't have turbo lag, makes similar hp to the eb, gets close to the same gas mileage as the eb, gets slightly better towing mileage than the eb, and sounds good, you won't get any argument from me.
But if you say the 5.0 is more proven, gets better all around mileage because your cousin-in-law said so, turbo v6's from the 80's were unreliable, turbochargers and direct injection are unproven new technology, or any other BS, then I'm going to call it.
