Hi guys,
This is my first post, though I have read about 1/2 the posts on here.
I work at a ford dealer and have a 13 eb and have driven about 500 eb trucks.
This is my question. Does the 13 eb motor seem slower? I think it does. What do you guys think?

they have larger turbos but seeming no different power output, i think the problem comes in to the fact they say it has a more restrictive intercooler.

I would guess its just new and needs to be broke in.

From the one or two 1/4 mile times I've seen the 13's are a touch faster mod for mod after tune....prior to the tune they seem a touch slower.

XFJunkie, is probably right...a lot to do with the restrictive CAC. So stock a little slower, modded a little faster. 5star also dyno'ed one stock and it didn't peak as high in numbers but held a flatter and longer power curve.

Well it has 3300 miles on it, and when looking at the 1/4 mile time thread the only 13 on there seems to be one of the slowest. i dont know, just my thought.

I'm also one of the heaviest. Don't know what others have as far as options, but my FX4 is loaded. 6000lbs is a lot to move around. I think a less optioned truck maybe supercab would pull a much better time than I was able to.

Like I said above...stock--a little slower and less tq peak....modded-- a little faster.

I was told they are programmed to be de-tuned for the first 5k as a break in procedure.

Now I was told that thay are not detuned so I dont know, but would a tuner fix that any way?

My 0-60 times stock were low 7's from the livewire, consistently. Tuned dropped it to 5.7-8ish. A buddy of mine had an 11 and just traded for a 13, he says his old one was faster

Not sure what my 0-60 times are but I took my loaded 2013 fx4 screw short box 4x4 to the track last week and ran 14.9@91mph consistently. From what others have posted with 2011-2012 it seems they are a touch quicker but that could be launching, weather, track conditions etc.
