Default 2012 f150 3.7 v6 performance upgrades?

Hi everyone, new to the site and I am picking up my new truck in about 4 hours. It's my first truck and I've been patiently waiting years to get one. Just wondering if anyone knows of some performance boosting accessories I can acquire cheaply and not void my warranty. I've never added any aftermarket stuff to a vehicle but I am mechanically inclined and don't know where to begin. My truck comes stock 302 hp and I would like more

I really don't want to come across rude, but if the very first thing you want to do after buying the 3.7 is wring more power out of it, then why didn't you just buy the 5.0?
You're going to spend the $1000 anyway it sounds like.

To the above, no offense, but I hate it when people bring up that point. Not everyone orders straight from ford.com, we go to dealerships and buy the one we like on the spot. At the dealership, it is NOT an extra $1,000, at mine it was another $7,000 for the 5.0 and 4X4. So it is a bit of a leap for the upgrade.

Well not to be rude but I'm not towing anything so I have no need for the 5.0, I didn't join this forum to be judged so if you have nothing useful to say then please get off my thread. Anyways, I'm wondering about things like cold air intake. K&N doesn't make one for my model and engine size yet but they boast a bolt on kit that requires no modification to the vehicle. Anyone know of another cold air intake they would recommend? From what I read a cold air intake is going to increase fuel economy by up to 2mpg and add about 10hp. Sounds like a win win to me, are there any drawbacks to a cold air intake?

Depending upon how far down the pipe runs, you increase your chance of hydrolocking the motor.

I am seriously thinking about a Roush intake for my 3.7l but I am going to wait a little longer and make damn sure my dealer won't void my warranty.

Lol....

To daxlarsen, please enjoy the truck first. The 3.7 is a good motor, let yourself see what it can do before you mess with it. I don't have it myself, but I have driven it.

You have a naturally aspirated 3.7 liter v-6 that puts out 300+ HP and redlines at 7000 rpm's.
Leave well enough alone my friend.
