I have a 2012 ecoboost and when it is winter and colder out and I am going about 55mph in 6th gear up hills my truck sometimes studders/misses just a little that u can feel it. If I lock out 6th gear and only let it be in 5th gear it doesn't do it. Also in the summertime or when it is warm it will not do it in 5th or 6th gear. I did change the plugs last March and have drilled the intercooler. Any idea why it would only do it when cold and in 6th gear at 55 mph?

Spark blowout from boost, change your plugs. Mine did that brand new as soon as it got cold. Finally found tge spark plugs on here 1.5 years after buying the truck, changing plugs fixed it

It was doing it last winter and I changed the plugs in March. Why would the plugs be bad again after about 8000 miles? And why only do it in the cold?

Actually, you didn't. The 1/16" weep hole in the intercooler will keep the condensate out. Then, install new sp534 plugs gapped to .030.

Didn't what?

Op, did you gap them properly? I bought my truck in Sept 2011, brand new. November with 6000 miles when it got cold it did as you describe. Fought it all winter. Ford did the condensation tsbs. Next November...same exact thing happened, even with the new intercooler. March of 2013 I found tge threads on here complaining of the same exact thing, and that spark plugs were the cause. Switched out plugs, no more issue

I did gap the plugs to .30 as described on here. I don't understand why it is doing it again and why it only does it in cold.

The spark plugs only temporarily solve the problem as the issue will come back. When the misfire occurs, it is due to condensate from the intercooler blowing out spark on acceleration. The spark plugs AND the weep hole shutter proof the truck. Ford has no fix for acceleration misfire in 2011-14 trucks.

This particular scenario is completely different than the condensation issue.

I was wondering how it could be condensation but I guess it could be. Why does it only do it though in 6th gear at 55mph uphill? Why wouldn't it do it in 5th gear at 55 mph? And why only in the cold weather. I have never had an issue accelerating fast or anything dealing with the condensation. It is almost like in 6th gear at 55 mph the truck runs in to low of rpms and needs to downshift but why only in cold temps does it seem like a miss.

I would bet a large amount of money that the weep hole solves your problem.
