2011 F150 motor replacement
I just recently picked up a 2011 F150 with a bad motor Cyl 3, 4 misfire.
I'm looking to replace the full motor with a used one.
I have been looking online and I see 11-13 5.0 motors group together but then I see 2014 5.0 motors grouped by themselves.
Was there a running change that Ford did not advertise on the 2014 models?
Are the engines interchangeable?
Reason I ask is because I can get a 2014 with much less miles for the same price as a 2011-2013 with much higher miles
And if anyone has a DIY on motor replacement that would be great even though it looks like a pretty simple swap

FORD lifer
I think you're being a pioneer on this one.
The first thing I would do is trek down to a Ford Dealer, with a sympathetic parts man, and look up the part numbers for replacement long blocks for the different years, and you may luck out and they'll be the same.

I believe the diferance is in 11 through 13 the 5.0 had oil squirters that sprayed oil on the underside of the piston in 2014, they stopped producing that way. BEST place to ask would be a wrecking yard. They can use the Hollander interchange book and find out for you. IMO, it should work just fine.

I got a 2012 motor with 54k on it for $1700 so it was a direct swap
I performed some minor maintenance on the motor while it was out (Water pump, Thermostat, Spark Plugs, A whole bunch of O-ring seals, Radiator hoses, belts)
Installed the MMR Cyl 8 Cooling mod
Performed transfer case and transmission fluid/filter change
Truck is running like a top just need to trace the driver rear ABS sensor signal since I changed the sensor but it's still giving me a code for it

I am going through the same change blown 2011 f150 5.0. I bought a 2014 5.0 with 31000 miles on it. From what myself and the parts guy gathered at ford, and he is a very good parts guys, the interchange will work, it only calls out having to maybe change out a pigtail on the harness but i cannot see any difference. I am putting motor in saturday.

2011 F150 5.0 and put a 2014 F150 5.0 in it place will it fit
Aloha,
I have a 2011 F150 5.0 with 200k blown motor. One of our fleet 2014 F150 5.0 got totaled and has 80k on it. Can buy back from insurance. will the 2014 fit in the 2011?
