Trade it in to the dealership that can't/won't fix it and let them try to sell it.

Here's a thought I paid for a top of the line f150 platinum with every option I wanted. My plan has been to have the truck for at least 5 years. It's nice not to have payments for a bit. Why should i have to sell a truck because the company that built them sucks in diagnosing and repairing the stupid thing. I don't know about you guys but money doesn't grow on trees a least not in my neck of the woods. This is a $60,000 plus truck and I have paid through the nose to get it running right. My point is if I have paid for things twice going on three times to get this truck running right and it still isn't shouldn't Ford step up?

No moving on letting everybody know how bad Ford is. You don't want to hear it don't listen,

Being miserable and complaining 'til the cows come home isn't going to fix it.

Throw some Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer in there. The rattle is not the chain, it is oil draining out of the top end. Or wait for the dry starts to eat your chain again, your choice.

If it doesn't work you can simply drain the oil after a few days. This is a minimal cost to try and fix this yourself instead of letting the truck implode

+1... should have done this long ago.....

As far as making a lot of noise about Fords failures.... most folks realize that this is the INTERNET and we are only hearing one side of a story.

Save your self some grief and move the truck on.

I've had a few stretched timing chans and 12 hours would be nice but cheap Ford with their damn warranty only pays their techs 9.2. Yes there's special tools, one set is to hold the cams in place, there's another to take the tension off the secondary chain on the phasers so you can move the one to get the primary chain off. There's also a couple more to hold the phasers so you can tighten the bolts down. If you've got the front cover off it isn't that bad of a job but if you don't know what you're doing I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself.

Trade it in and let the dealership worry about it.
