Could have been. That was the one I had one my PC. It could have been changed.

I love my truck, love my ecoboost (yes, i had the cam phasers/chain fixed under warranty), but I have zero intention of buying another Ford product due to their customer service, incredibly sloppy service every time I went in at every single dealership I tried, and having to FIGHT to get Ford to fix defects they clearly knew about.
Are you listening Ford? No they're not, and that is a big part of the problem.

Bought an Ecoboost at an online fleet auction so never heard it run. Picked it up today and sounds like the one in this posters message
except it doesn't quiet down after a few seconds. The noise is continuous, just not that loud. Drove it home 50 miles and it didn't have much power. Odd thing is if I rev it to 2K or more the noise seems to go away, sometimes. Truck has over 100,000 miles so no warranty I assume? I've done the chains on a 4.6 so how much harder is this engine to do that job along with the phasers? And how much in parts cost?

So I’ve been looking at the repair manual and looking at the timing system. Do the parts that need to be replaced include the primary chain, tensioner, 2 guides and both intake VCT sprockets? Are the two secondary chains, two tensioners and both exhaust sprockets to be replaced as well? Parts are dealer only or is aftermarket available?

I contacted my dealer on the issue this week. Rather than just show up I asked to speak with a Service Adviser in advance. I was directed to Mark. A very nice guy. I discussed the issue and the TSB. He said having videos like the one I posted here is inadmissible in a court of law so to speak and that they will in fact have to hear it for themselves be able to approve such an extensive job under warranty.
I am going to drop it off Monday evening and he will let it sit until Wednesday before starting it. Murphy's Law specifies that next week will be one of those rare weeks when it takes a break and doesn't happen...
More to come.
