2011 ecoboost noise on start up

My mother in law went to a dealer and had her oil changed. They must have lost her master cylinder cover as they had zip tied a different makes cover on there. Of coarse they denied it.....no problem....I made sure to tell as many people as I could. I got the right cover on it and bleed all the old fluid out. (the cover you remove to fill the brake fluid)

I removed my cover anyway. Just another thing to rip off

Had the truck in for it's 120k oil change and the dealer made the mistake of letting it sit in their shop for a couple of hours. It apparently gave them a good rattle and he freeked out! Because I've had the noise for such a long time, it's gotten really, really bad. They checked the timing and it's only off by 2 degrees. 10,000 miles ago it was at 3, so the problem can't be the chain. He's guessing drivers side phaser. They previously replaced the passenger side back when I had the error code. At the moment they are trying to get the noise covered under the 2 year repair warranty, but he needs corporate approval. I honestly don't know if that will happen because my timing is within spec.
That's hilarious that it freaked them out though.

I filed my claim with CAMVAP a couple of weeks ago and they called me today. My claim is officially under way for all the issues I keep having with Ford. It might be a huge waste of time but it's worth a shot. All I'm asking for is a reliable truck free of engine issues. I'll update as my case progresses so others can decide if they want to go this route or not.

Coming up on a couple thousand miles running the Lucas. Almost 3,000 miles since last oil change. Will be getting oil changed next week before my upcoming road trip and will add it in again for my experiment. I have only heard it rattle once or twice with the Lucas product...my last 4 tanks I am at an 18 mpg average in mixed driving which I have never seen that high before. Last 3 tanks are right around 18.5. That's fantastic. I have also been accumulating less oil in my IC since running this product. Not saying this is a fix or for everyone, but its been working great for me and I will continue running it.

Here are the results of my used oil analysis.
Iron - 9 ppm
Chromium - 0 ppm
Nickel - 0 ppm
Aluminum - 0 ppm
Copper - 2 ppm
Lead - 0 ppm
Tin - 0 ppm
Cadmium 0 ppm
Silver - 0 ppm
Vanadium - 0 ppm
Silicon - 19 ppm
Sodium - 361 ppm
Potassium - 0 ppm
Titanium - 29 ppm
Molybdenum - 7 ppm
Antinomy - 0 ppm
Manganese - 0 ppm
Lithium - 0 ppm
Boron - 1 ppm
Magnesium - 6 ppm
Calcium - 1366 ppm
Barium - 0 ppm
Phosphorous - 591 ppm
Zinc - 690 ppm
Fuel Dilution - <1% Vol (very surprising)
Soot - <0.1% Vol
Water - <0.1% Vol
Viscosity - 11.0 cSt @ 100C
Oxidation - 7 abs/cm
Nitration - 7 abs/0.1mm
Based on the results of 0 being normal and 4 being critical they gave my oil a severity of 3.
They based this on the sodium and indicated that it was at a SIGNIFICANT LEVEL. Sodium sources: coolant (antifreeze), lube additive or supplement, and/or environmental contaminant.
Of note, this oil sample was taken 900 kilometers from a fresh oil change. And approximately 200 kilometers from adding one bottle of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.
I would like to discuss these results and value everybody's opinion?
Thank-you

I received the glycol analysis back this morning and the oil sample tested negative (which is a good thing).
So the sodium was either from the Lucas product or environmental contaminant. I have tried contacting Lucas but so far I have not been able to get a response.

someone with this problem should try using 10w30 instead of 5w30. if fuel dilution is causing the noise this may help. we assume ford went from 5w20 to 5w30 in the early sho's because fuel dilution but thats not helping when the oil/engine is cold (when we here the noise). the only negative i can see would be fuel mileage before warmup but that would be minimal. just a thought. anybody have any thoughts. better option to me than than oil additives if it worked
