2011 ecoboost noise on start up

You wouldn't need to tell professionals. A true professional would tell you. That is why I don't go to dealers--high price--high hassel--low service.

I hear what you are saying. However, there isn't much choice when there is $1000's of dollars of work to be done under warranty coverage.

Regarding scratches....long ago I worked as a shop monkey (cleaned the shop) at a Porsche/Audi dealer where my dad worked as a mechanic. This was in the late 80's. They do use padded mats over the fenders, etc when leaning over into the engine bay. They should anyway. They did at that dealer. If I were to see a mechanic leaning over my truck with no protection on the fenders or painted bumper area, I'd go ballistic (but in a respectful way) and I'm not at all known to get upset easily. You don't have to have a very high or even average IQ to understand that doing so much work leaning over the edge of the truck has the potential to cause scuffs and scratches. I didn't pay $36k (for a $42k truck) just for someone at a dealer that should know better to ruin the paint. Now, if I had a 1998 beater that was already in questionable shape, that's more understandable....but even then, any responsible and RESPECTFUL person would use a pad to prevent any damage. Personally, if I were the mechanic, my mindset would always be "I don't want this customer to come back and complain about anything I did, so even though this vehicle is a piece of crap, I'm using the pad. That's the only responsible and reasonable thing to do.
I guess my pet peeve is irresponsible people who don't care about other people's property. If you want to tear up your own truck, go right ahead....but you damn sure better not screw up mine because I worked for that money that bought that truck....not you.
End rant

It all ended up ok. The service manager took my truck to a detailer to have the fenders buffed. The passenger side turned out great. The drivers side has some hazing or hologram look to it. I'll fix that myself. He kept his word and it was done when I went to pick it up. Can't ask for much more than that. I paid for a new water pump ($57.00). I figured it was out, so why not. No extra labour. So far the truck doesn't rattle at start up. Only time will tell!!

I have found many Ford mechanics play right into the Ford mantra. Treat the customer like they are an idiot and maybe they will go away.
My truck has thrown an engine light again after missing severely while accelerating onto the highway. It sits in my driveway useless right now... Caught between two dealers who don't seem eager to help.
The service manager at the dealer who is supposed to be fixing my truck told me the parts were on national backorder and wanted to wait until the 10th to fix my truck (when he got back from vacation). It's now the 12th and still no phone call or reply to my email.
WTF?! is with these people...

I had a guy lean concrete board on the side of my truck. I told him what I thought about it and he got argumentative. I told him I knew how the Company was run and I fired him and told him to punch out.
Next time I was at the store the Manager asked me what I said. He asked me nicely not to fire his employees. That Manager and I are still friends. A little later he told me that the guy was gone.
It don't make no sense.

Timing chain?
timing chain issues being reported.. Check out you tube. A Guy videoed the issue. Just another reason to regret buying a ecoboost.
