First thing I would do is unplug the vacuum pump by popping the headlight and starting the engine.

Many of these noises don't sound like typical chain noise to me. Chains sound more ... chain like.

Unplugging the pump or pulling its fuse and firing it up are quick and free way to eliminate that badboy from the diagnostics.

Just a thought, I have a fair amount of timing chain experience...

Yours does sound chain-ish to me.

I have only herd one tiny peep from it since I changed the oil and filter myself. I use amsoil signature series and amsoil absolute filter. Maybe, if you don't tighten the filters enough the anti siphon valve does not work correctly.

Here is mine.

You hear the noise at 0.05 seconds.

For a 2014: AT4Z-6268-C for the chain, AT4Z-6K254-A for the tensioner arm and BA5Z-6L266-B for the tensioner it's self.

For my 2011: AT4Z-6268-A for the chain, AT4Z-6B274-A for the arm and BL3Z-6L266-A for the tensioner.

Notice the arm has a totally new part number. Others are just updates. I'm curious to know why the 14's get C and B versions of the parts, but they are not retrofitted to the older engines? These updates are just from the last 6 months or so. Last time I looked, there were no differences. There are additional updates to the other valve train components, but these are the three parts that I'm placing blame upon.

I tried catching it on video to help diagnosis, but cold this morning and twice more 5 hours apart "I could not replicate the problem" Lol.
I mentioned this to my service manager and shop foreman when I was there yesterday. Nothing was recorded as a complaint. I will monitor this noise closely and if I record more events I will book it in for service.
If you still feel I should send you my info in a PM to get this on record I will. I'm in BC Canada and I see you are Ford Service CA so I assume your the correct contact?
You're welcome, dcfluid. What I suggest moving forward is to get in touch with your local dealer once you think it's ready for a diagnosis. Then, send your information my way so I can assess the next steps. That diagnosis is important!

To answer your second question, I'm most certainly your best contact on the forum regarding any concerns you may have. If anything else comes up along the way, please don't hesitate to get in touch. You know where to find me now!

My truck now has an official diagnosis right from my Ford Dealer (see post #343). This "official" diagnosis came after your regional rep phoned me, then proceeded to berate me and treated me like a fool for thinking this could be my timing chain. Turns out I was right. Now Ford Engineering has said not too repair the truck because they basically don't know how. To me this is unacceptable.
