I experienced some funny smells a few times coming through the air vents when i got on it real good. I just attributed it to 'the new burning off'. Didnt really make me freak out.

I just got my Ecoboost. I noticed the burning smell coming through the vents while driving on the highway about 70 mph with the Ac on. The truck then had 400 miles on it. It lasted for about a half hour. I now have about 950 miles on it now and had not had it happen again yet.

It has to be some kind of burn off. I floored it a couple of times before I got home...got out and had the smell again.

I guess I'll wait and see if it goes away...

Like Goober said, it will go away, when is the only question. I've had new cars and the new car "burn" smell last a couple thousand miles, some up to 12,000miles.

I get the same thing just under 600miles on the truck. Its not thru the air vents. I only smell it when i step out of the truck and not on every ocassion just on some. thought it was the Turbo breaking in. if their is such a thing

You actually might be right about the turbos breaking in - remember the things glow bright red when they're under load.
