Here is the old hose, forgot to take one of the new hose, but the o-ring in the new one was definitely better looking.

I just got my Pegasus kit and took a quick peek at the fit up. Project starts in the morning.

I have a 2013 Ecoboost. The replacement hose looks way too long coming off the reservoir. Too much drop and there's a monster hose in the way that's not going to move.

Does anyone have cut lengths on the Pegasus hose? I saw a vid where a guy called Pegasus and was told not to cut. My real worry if there's a diameter change before the elbow. Proven cut lengths would make matters easier. Hate cutting hoses to length and its really hard to cut it longer.

Thanks in advance.

Just completed installing the Pegasus kit and thought I'd comment on the process.
My truck is a 2013 Ecoboost.
Regarding the cut length on the big end. I ended up after 3 trims taking off approx 2 inches. I say approx. because its a crude measurement stacking the 3pcs and measuring them. So, I wouldn't start there but that's what I ended up with.

Pushing the hose on was a pain but finally got there. What I recommend is get it on as far as you can. At least over the second hump. At this point its time for a break and that's the key. Give it 10 minutes or so. Have a beer. A little wait time will allow the rubber to stretch and the next big push will go the rest of the way.

The small diameter end could also be trimmed a bit but I didn't go there.

Lastly, I did see installs on this thread and most are installing the clamps so the buckles are nicely lined up. Word of advice. If there's going to be a leak using hose clamps it will most likely be at the buckle (worm gear) Its advised that they aren't installed this way as a general rule. With this application it likely not an issue, but just saying.

The new OEM hose comes greased a small amount, I imagine you could also use....some type of grease to aid in getting the Pegasus hose on as that is how the factory part comes. In fact you can still see a bit of the old grease in the photos I posted above. Then again, a beer break is always nice. (:

This was my experience with the Pegasus kit. 2011 5.0. Can't guarantee they're the same fitup, but I can always assume. I could have taken more I think, but I cut once, it seemed to fit decent, so i didn't want to screw my s

I decided to replace my upper radiator hose and to my surprise I found that the o ring isn't there... at least by the looks of it.. I installed my new one and the new clip and I haven't had a leak in the last 3 hours lol... but only time will tell.. I will try and take apart the old hose to see if I find the o ring

It's hard to tell from the picture as to if there is one or not. Usually you would see the -ring under that silicone lube.

Default Pegasus Fix Installation Photos

Just got my Pegasus Fix installed. Check the photos below.
I didn't trim the larger end, I wasn't smart enough to check the latest updates here, so i ended up with the hose slightly resting on the engine plastic cover, so i also installed a plastic protection cover. Need to check after sometime the wear on this one and eventually consider trimming the hose.

After trying to replace just the hose a month ago or so I still had a very slight leak so I went with the Pegasus kit. I was able to push it on with the reservoir still in the truck and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I did trim about 1.5" off the small end and a little over an inch on the larger end which seemed to keep the hose in roughly the same location as it was with the oem elbow.
