Ya I saw the four fixes after reading the whole thread. My service woman can't tell me if it is leaking at the reservoir or not. I was just going to head to the dealer today after work and see what exactly is going on. Replacing this o-ring on the upper hose has been working for people though?

It worked fine for me, I also replaced the o-ring on the Y-pipe and coolant reservoir hose and things aren't leaking. With that said, I haven't put any miles on the fix since the truck is still not being driven.

Was able to take a look at the truck in service yesterday. It is indeed the o-ring for the upper radiator hose and the t-stat housing. Cheap parts but my warranty company still refuses to pay. I don't mind doing it myself but I wanted to use the $2000 warranty I paid for. I keep being told they won't warranty parts designed to "wear out".

You got to love those types of warranties. The o-ring in the upper rad hose is an easy one to do. The one on the t-stat housing isn't hard either but you have to buy a complete hose assembly, the o-ring isn't available from Ford by itself. Also, make sure you use the Ford Specialty Orange coolant when you top back up.

I picked up the o-ring listed earlier in this thread but the Ford diagram shows it for the lower radiator hose. Does the upper and lower radiator really ue the same o-ring? The one that came with my truck's upper radiator hose is clear colored and this one is black.

Thanks for the advice by the way.

I had to buy a whole new lower hose so I didn't try out the replacement Ford part in it, just the upper. But to me they both looked to be the same.

Had the same issue. Just picked it up from the dealer yesterday. They replaced the water pump under the powertrain warranty. Then replaced the coupler and 2 hoses as a good-faith fix. No more coolant leaks

The other day I noticed that my engine fans were running more than they should be, popped the hood, and wouldn't you know it...I was low on coolant. I had just changed the oil and checked all fluid levels a few days ago and they were all fine. The leak wasn't hard to find, though. It's the connection for the main coolant hose at the bottom of the coolant reservoir. This hose is just held on with a snap ring. After looking up the parts list it doesn't look like there is an O-ring or flat gasket at this connection, and I didn't see any signs of the hose or the tube connection on the reservoir being cracked. Why is this connection leaking all of a sudden? I tried to tighten down a hose clamp on this connection ahead of the snap ring, which helped some; but didn't completely stop the leak. Any suggestions?

On to the second part of my post, to repair/further troubleshoot this issue I know I'm going to have to drain coolant. I have 70,000 miles on the truck now, so I figure in the process of troubleshooting I might as well drain all of the coolant, flush the system, and fill everything back up with new. I haven't really looked yet; but are there coolant drain plugs on the radiator? Would someone be able to give me a quick how to on draining, flushing, and refilling the coolant system?

Thanks in advance for any help, guys.
Order this and problem solved
