Now, to help me out, along with anyone else who has a coolant leak problem, this is what I've concluded based on everything that I've read (damn long thread, too!)--

Problem: Coolant leak at quick-connect at overflow (degas) reservoir.
Fix: Pegasus part kit SHK-FORD-001-Black/BLUE/RED (thanks again AMP)

Problem: Coolant leak at "T" connector to quick-connect/Thermostat Housing (item #13 & #6 on diagram for 2011 & 2012).

Fix: (now this is where I'm confused) Is the answer to replace the "T" connector (# DR3Z-8566-A) altogether

OR replace both the Thermostat Housing Seal (part # 7T4Z-8590-A) AND Thermostat Gasket (# BR3Z-8255-A)?

I appreciate the clarification if someone can help out.

Thanks,

Dre
Did you get a reply on the coolant leak at the t-connector? I am trying to figure out if I need both the upper hose and the t-connector and the O-ring, or if I just really need the $6 O-ring.

I wonder how many folks have this problem, it looks like everyone with a 5.0 F150 in a place that gets below zero has the issue. A TSB would be nice. Let me know if you got it figured out.

Does the BC3Z 8590F o-ring part number the same for both sides of the T connector?
It worked for my upper radiator to T connection but now the other connection on the T is leaking. Just want to conform it is the same o-ring before I get it disassembled.

The lower connection of the "T" that connects to the thermostat doesn't use that O-ring.

It's NOT the same O-ring as he said, and it's not available separately. We got one that the dealer parts dept said was right, but it leaked and sprayed antifreeze everywhere once it dripped onto the belt! (happened when we put the original o-ring back into the groove after the replacement we were given was obviously MUCH larger)

Had to go to a local industrial hose/o-ring store for the part, and actually got it for free. was so cheap they didn't want to ring it up.

I ran the uv fluid through; maybe 20 miles and am not seeing signs of a leak, but I did have to add just a touch more water. I started at the top of the fill line, but today it was a little bit above the lower fill line; tyats the fluxuation for over abut 3 weeks. I checked all around the bottle, and then around the water pump.

Any ideas?

I have a2011 5.0. With the same issue , notice coolant puddle right on the back side on my drivers wheel Took to local chain shop they said it was the hose coming off the coolant tank, so I had then replace it, a month and three more trips back and it's still leaking . They replaced then O ring on the hose and then the cap on the tank. Still leaking. Pressure tests showed no leaks. But it was leaking 30 min after getting home . I was out of option beside going to the dealer, I started searching on here and had them RTv the damn hose on it yesterday. Well this morning ....puddle So now I have read about the elbow replacement from Pegasus, which I just ordered from Amazon. Super excited about this if it's the right fix.

My leak is the connection directly to the tank.

Dumb question here, do I need to siphon out the coolant in the tank? Then replace it ?

And finally I have read reviews that say DO NOTcut the larger side of the new elbow And some that say they had to ? Any clarification on this or tutorial?

Thank in advance guys
