2011 5.0 acceleration squeal

I plan to next week, I don't have a bunch of faith in ford dealerships to really trouble shoot problems. I was hoping that I could steer them in the right direction of what might be wrong.

You could always take it to an independent shop. Lots of the better shops have all the same tooling as Ford. We can all give you a suggestion on what it may be but without hearing or seeing your truck we are just guessing.

I might try that. My local dealership doesn't even make appointments anymore. First come first serve. I'm sure there are good ones out there, just our local ones have rubbed me the wrong way. I will keep you posted on what they say

You can check iatn shop finder for shops near you. Plenty of good shops on there.

solution?
Was there ever a solution to this problem. I just bought an 11 f150 5.0 with 60k miles and have noticed this whistle/squeal a few times. I was able to get the squeal to vary it's tone while feathering the throttle as it was swealing, leading me to believe it is within the throttle body.

Anything new anyone? I had the thought to remove the TB and possibly "polish" the fins in the intake manifold. My thought is if there is a burr it could cause this whistle or squeeling sound. Mine is the same RPM range as others have mentioned. I also considered removing the belt and doing a quick drive to see if the noise was there just to eliminate pulley / belt noise from something in the intake.

Hey guys.. Im a Ford Tech and drive a 2011 Fx4 F150 with the 5.0, I also have the high pitch squeal noise and mine just started about 2 weeks ago, I messed with it a little bit last week but couldnt really pinpoint where it was coming from. I soon as I get time I will find the damn noise and let you guys know! I was thinking maybe it was my waterpump because I just replaced it 3 weeks ago and the truck never made the noise before but doubt its the pump. 18k miles so far.
It still seems to be an intake/vacuum leak issue to me, just because it is throttle position dependent, but I find it odd that two people's trucks started having this issue after having a water pump replaced.

I fixed my whistle!
I wanted to provide an update on my truck.
After doing a LOT of research and taking into account bits and pieces of what others have recommended or had thoughts on… I’ve reduce the sound to almost being nonexistent and ever so faint in the most perfect scenario of throttle position. In other words, it’s pretty much resolved compared to what it sounded like originally.
The truck runs great, idles just as well as before, and most importantly – doesn’t whistle! Before my truck would do it from 1500-2100rpms with 1/3 throttle, and annoyed me to no end with the window down. Now, you have to have the pedal just right and around 1700 rpms just to barely hear it with the windows down. 95% improvement here, just sharing my experience, and I hope this helps someone. If you need more details, just let me know. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos.

- I removed the throttle body and sanded the edges down on the throttle plate (did not remove from the body or arm), as the edges were very sharp. I used 100 grit sandpaper and simply knocked the edge down enough so that it smoothed out the edge. I didn’t remove a whole lot of material here and maybe spent 15 minutes on this step in total.
2. I smoothed out the “whoosh fingers” behind the throttle body. They had sharp “seams,” edges, and casting lines that I logically concluded if caught the right way could produce a sound. For this I used a small file and 100 grit sandpaper. I smoothed the front, sides, and back of each fin. I left the intake attached while doing this. Cleanup explained below.
When I was done with both, I used throttle body cleaner on the body to remove any metal shavings, dirt, etc and let it dry. I then sprayed some in the intake and used paper towels and a shop rag to mop up any plastic shavings. I spent quite a bit of time ensuring no shavings were left in the intake and also that the throttle body had no metal shavings in the body itself. Hi guys!
Any updates from the "fix" above or anything else? I just had my water pump replaced and now I have the issue. I have a 2011 f150 5.0.
