I am the OP. I was never able to get a good audio clip of the exhaust with the factory resonator in place. I ended up stepping back a bit an taking the factory resonator back off and bolting an MBRP 4" resonator in place.

Still a bit too loud for me, but the wife likes it.

Can you tell us if the OEM resonator in place cut down the cab drone? And how much it cut down the overall sound?

I love the sound of mine ... but it is to loud in the cab for me.

It cut the in cab noise down at least 75%. I just didn't like how mellow it got outside the cab.

Thank you .. just did this and IMO 100% better. Much better cab sound for the good. I would agree 75-80% quieter in the cab.
Outside you can still hear it scream when you get on it. At idle and cruse its nice and mellow.

And best part .. got my low end power back that I lost. I am guessing putting the res back on gained me the back pressure these trucks need.

I have the same issue. The interstate low rpm drone is unbearable and i have been searhcing for ways to quiet it down. I never thought i would say that. I still want the scream when i get on it but just nice and quiet on the interstate. Good research guys.

Hooneslty sounds clips uploaded serve no justice. You need to hear one of these in person if at all possible and ride in the truck.

I did this to my truck after 2 days of having the roush kit on. I was almost ready to take it off and send it back until I found this thread. Putting the stock resonator back on made the truck sound exactly like I wanted to. Absolutely no drone in the cab but still has a nice rumble to it and still loud on the outside when on the gas
