The induction tube gets re-used.
The kit consists of a open, gasketed lid fo the existing airbox, a cone filter, and the plastic tube that connects to the "induction tube". I will get around to taking a picture, but it is the same kit as the ecoboost, and I am sure their are pictures of that on this site.

It to derail but 13L/100 isn't that great. If I'm getting a consistent 12.5 with my EB. On another note, my brother test drove a 3.7 with me today and that thing was impressive as hell. Def 4 great engines

Hey, don't be a (linguistically challenged), troll. Take your ecoboost cheerleading crap somewhere else. God know's there is enough of that on this site! This thread is for discussing the 3.7 Intakes.

Sweet! I want to pull the trigger but I am going to hold off and see if any place is going to have a discount for black Friday or the holidays. I really want to hear about the mpg gains if you have seen any.

At about $300.........
the gains better be pretty impressive to make me want to put one on my 3.7 Screw........ I figure that a 1 MPG average incrtease will deliver savings of about the equivalent of 1 gal per tankful.( if it gives you 1 mpg ? )..... about $3.50 per fillup....... Thats about 85 fillups.... with 1 fillup a week , is about 86 weeks to equal the cost of the unit...... thats almost 2 years of use to reach break-even..... assuming the efficiency increase is all you really want........ the neat sound described is just frosting on the cake........ ???

Hopefully Ford knows what they are doing with this engine, in this heavy truck, in this state of tune, programmed to shift at 6900 rpm. I expect this engine to last, and wonder how tough it really is.

I think the sound is the biggest benefit to adding the CAI. I looked at the stock setup, the intake opening is huge. I could put my fist into the fenderwell, there's not much restriction in the factory setup. It looks like they direct air from the front of the truck into the fenderwell also, making it very efficient.

Swapping out the stock tube doesn't do much. A cone filter is all you need. Plus with the 3.7 you can't swap out the tube as there are a lot tubes/connections branching off from it which is why I think Roush made only the cone filter kit and not a complete CAI. Good to hear it makes a difference in low end power, I'm going to get one now. The 3.7 is a fast truck but lacks torque.
What setup do you have? I have a 4x4 supercab 3.73. The best gas mileage I can get in the city is 13.8 L/100 km which is between 16 and 17 mpg so it's not horrible but not good either. I only have 2000 kms on my truck so it's not broken in, not sure if that makes a difference in mileage.

I am amazed at the mileage, it rivals my 2009 Sr5 4 cylinder Tacoma, and blows away my 2010 TRD V6 Tacoma. Incredible engine, really nice truck.
