Not much of a Holiday for sure... i am currently at $2,700CDN for this part, then $1,800 for the dealer to pull and diagnose... I have seen an engine on Ebay for $2500 plus $500 for frieght... So, the dealer is down to $12,800+ 5% tax and I will get a handbuilt non production engine with 5yrs and 160,000km warranty. Like I said I like the truck so this is a better deal... I have started a claim with www.camvap.com to see if they can weigh in and help me out with Ford. The truck is at MGM Ford in Red Deer Alberta. http://www.camvap.ca/ is the right one...

nice fugly bro! Nothing like going for a ride and get your mind right. I have 10' custom myself. Glad to see you've gotten your truck straightend out. I swear, your'e like the 4th person as someone stated that has had serious issues since the 3 months I've been here. Kinda sucks to read you know when its about your latest toy in the stable. Let me see, theres 130,000 members on this forum. 12,000 are active thats divided among all the years and different trucks on here. So I hope NONE of those other so called 200,000 ecoboost trucks are bad and doing fine..just sayin

The powertrain warranty is 60K. But I'm curious as to why the CDN dealer insisted that you bring the truck back up to canada if Ford wasn't going to take care of you anyway and you were aware you were out of warranty?

Would it not have been cheaper to fix the truck in the states?
Did you do all the servicings at the dealer?

21k in 8 months. Tuned for 18k of those. No issues so far knock on wood. I do know that if it blows, I'll try and have insurance total it and go pick up a Harley 6.2.

41k in less than 2 years and every mile has had intake and exhaust, over 20k tuned and about 10k with catless downpipes. No problems here. Hopefully mine holds together til years end so I can trade it in.

I was told that if the truck was in Canada they would go to bat for me and try to get a motor. and... No I had service work done when required, I travel alot and there is anot always a dealer around to get it done at. The factory motor from what I am being told are assembled by robots, the motors for offeres through parts is a hand built motor, so they up the warranty on them cause they are better built I guess...

I would suggest that for your own knowledge, you check out videos of the Ford Cleveland Plant #1 that produces Ecoboost engines. You'll see that skilled humans (not robots) play an integral role in the manufacturing of these fine engines.

It would be better if it was robots.

I think there have been more 5.0 engines replaced than Ecoboosts, but it's close. A lot more EB were built though, so I think it still favors the EB. Plus, the EB is built in Cleveland OH which is good. Isn't the 5.0 built in Canada or some foreign land like that? That sure isn't favorable.
