They may very well have a smaller EB in 2015, but I am betting that they will keep the 3.5 in the lineup, and the smaller one will be for those who want a little better mpg, but are not going to tow what the 3.5 EB is rated for.

Supposed to have compound turbos like the 6.7L diesel, and possibly the reversed heads with the exhaust manifolds and turbos in the valley as well. Might be interesting...

I sure hope the 3.5 is the preferred engine. who the heck can get excited by a 2.7L anything,, you might as well be driving a volkswagon.

"Autos.ca is reporting that a new, 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 could find its way into the lighter, aluminum-intensive truck. The new engine supposedly makes use of asymmetrical turbos to generate 320 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque – substantially more impressive numbers than the current 3.7-liter base engine's 302 ponies and 278 lb-ft – while offering improved fuel economy and emissions. The new 2.7 EcoBoost (internally dubbed "Nano") isn't expected to supplant the naturally aspirated V6 as the F-150's base engine, it's expected to slot in above directly it.

Naturally, we're prescribing more than a few grains of salt to go with these rumors, at least until Ford debuts the next F-150 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, a reveal we'll be covering in a mere two weeks."

320 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque isn't far off from what the 3.5 does now. It'll be interesting to see what the tow rating is if they go with this engine.

I'm hoping for a small Eco to replace the NA V6 and a Eco 5.0 to replace the current Eco, 5.0, and 6.2.

Twin turbo V8 would make me trade in a heartbeat.

Looks like they could drop that 5.0 V8 in favor of the smaller EB. Could leave the 6.2 as the only V8 in the line

This sentence would have read like this a year before the 3.5l TT came out.

I agree that the 3.5l should remain as a top choice for towing (until something more powerful comes out ) but the many truck buyers who tow less and lighter loads will probably find this motor very exciting, assuming the MPG's are good.
