Mine is a 2013 Supercrew FX2, 5.0L, Tuned, 3.55, 33" Terra Grapplers, Airaid Intake Tube, Banks Monster Muffler, & a 72" UWS tool box full of crap. I do mostly city and get high 15s/low 16s. On the interstate I have seen 19.5 hand calculated.

I have found the computer reading of my MPG is wrong. Check you millage at the pump before doing anything. My dash said 13 and the #'s at the pump said 18. it drives me crazy the dash being wrong but I haven't found a solution as of yet. I have tried unhooking the battery, the computer module. and google. cant find anything

Mine shows .75-1mpg higher than the actual mpg.

Surprised the typical "should have bought a Prius response" or "you shouldn't have bought a truck if you wanted fuel mileage" hasn't shown up yet.

My '14 5.0 super cab 2wd with 3.55 averages just under 16 mixed 85% highway at 60-65 mph and 15% in town with a best of 18.5 mpg straight highway cruising 60-65 the entire trip.

It's probably because I'm not trying to get more mpg than normal, just the same as what I am seeing from everyone else. I have 3.55's in the back. I drove 200 miles today, and I played with the dash mpg the whole way. No higher than 18 at any point. I have seen it averages about 1 mpg over my actual.

I calculate every tank I use. I have a lifetime mpg of 13.5 using the "Car Care" app.

Im not trying to penny pinch here, and the price of the fuel isn't a concern for me... I'm fortunate to get 100% fuel compensation from work. I'm just trying to diagnose any possible problems.

Definitely check your spark plugs, as suggested earlier. I'd throw a new set in there and check the gaps first.

I have an '11 platinum 5.0 4x4 short bed. I average about 13.5 mpg of mostly hwy. I think I am running very poorly. I just added a magnaflow cat back. And my best hwy mpg is 17.5mpg. I do not get any better, ever.

Is this normai? This is with cruise and 70 mph. Anything I can do to get better? I have a long why trip (300+ miles) every weekend, and it's starting to worry me there is a problem.

I have searched, and it only makes me more concerned. Thoughts?
Mine is a stock 2013 SCab with 5.0 and 3.55s, original Goodyear Wrangler 18" tires with 23000 miles.

Things to check: tire pressure and alignment. I have noticed the following mileage figures(all calculated by computer, but I have backed up the 70mph figure by hand).

At 60mph, I have gotten as good as 22-23mpg.

At 65, it drops to around 20.

At 70, it drops to 18 or so.

Above that, even worse. (Yes, legally. I live in MT and drive in WY where the limit is 80)

Most of these are on flat/level roads. Hills will hurt the mpg, as will wind.
Next time you're testing the mpg, pay attention to the wind. Our trucks are very affected by a headwind in regards to mpg and I have noticed up to a 5mpg difference when driving into a strong wind.

My previous F150 (stolen ) got about 2mpg lower, but it was a Heavy Payload Package SCrew with 3.73.

I average around 16.4 city and around 18 on the hwy. I don't know how these guys average in the 20s and upper 19s.
