Backorder usually means a redesign is in the works but with OEM manufacturer getting them first for production. I will hazard a guess a water channel barrier installation also.

Welp, the dealership I bought the truck from pretty much said F-you, use your ESP. The thing that pisses me off is that they did an "extensive inspection" before they sold it to me and that noise would have been noticeable to Helen Keller.... I'm to the point of venting now, I guess I have to pony up my $100 ESP deductible already for a truck I haven't even had 30 days. Besides the brake booster issue I really love this truck so don't think because I am pissed about the dealer I regret my purchase.

So this pump has been on back order for over a year!!!!!!!!!! Wow because it was a year ago when I replaced the first pump and it was on back order then..... Nice to see ford is taking these problems seriously and fixing them promptly..... what a JOKE

You got hosed on the price of your vac pumps Dave, my dealer down here in Tillsonburg lists them in at just over $300 and not back ordered.
Must be all the rich people in the guelph area that they take for hosers lol.

Same here. Just went into a dealership in Calgary and they were in stock and $300.00.

Just this last repair the part was 400 plus tax plus install.
It is what it is I guess each dealership charges different.

This is extremely sad. I've decided to stop gambling with this situation and I will be trading in my truck. I owe 13K and the trade in is just over 20k. I've change this pump once once already and it's already starting to go bad. The least Ford can do it is to issue a recall and man up. Unfortunately, since they are the number one selling truck in the US, they don't have to, they already made all the revenue they need. Instead of fixing the issue, they just come up with a new model. I don't want to keep replacing this every few years, so good bye it is. I gave USA car manufacture a chance, but unfortunately they disappointed me. I'm sure they are a bunch of happy customers out there, but the fact remains, I was not one of the lucky ones. Good for you, but it is good bye for me, bye bye Ford.
