I had the pump replaced on my 2011 under extended warrantee.

The problem is a lousy design that allows salt water into the piston and then the pump rots out. I'm entertaining removing the left headlight and buggering up the pump with hi-temp RTV.

Come back and tell us when you hear any news from the dealer, trailblazen. How many miles are on the truck now? I'll see what I can do to help.

I bought it used. It has 79K on it but I have a 4yr/60K mile bumper to bumper extended warranty that runs till 155K. Since I bought the truck 2 hours away at a sister dealership the local one is working with the one I bought it from to try to fix this. Not to mention the local dealership I have to work with is a Toyota dealership and the one 2hrs away is the Ford dealership I bought at. But because its owned by the same guy I will be able to get my service through them (I got 2 years free maintenance too from the dealership).

I just called them Crystal and the local Larry H. Miller Toyota dealership is still discussing with the Larry H. Miller Ford Dealership up in Lakewood, Colorado about how to proceed (whether they will cover the cost since I just bought it or if I need to use my warranty). Once I hear how they plan to proceed I will let you know Crystal. If they try to make me use my warranty I may try to have you lean on them since I was told this truck "went through an inspection" before it was sold to me. I already had to have the third brake light replaced yesterday since it was cracked and water was leaking in the back window. I sent you a PM Crystal

Just and FYI to everybody be prepared to replace this pump often. My 2011 Ecoboost Platinum has gone through 2 pumps already. I am on my third now. Another crap Ford approved design that the end users foots the bill for. FYI my truck has 175,000 kms on it.

Yes, and Ford does absolutely nothing other than accept your money every time you have to buy a new pump!

I wonder why the vacuum pumps are on back order? Good design maybe?
