I thought the 6.2 replaced the V10, but they stuck it in the 1/2 ton to match the 6.2 chevy at least have an offering that beats the rating of the Toyota and Dodge 5.7's since the EB and 5.0 came up a few ponies short.

Well obviously the what did it replace was a open ended question since only 2 motors were replaced. The 6.2 was added so the obvious answer was it replaced the older engines gas mileage. BTW the 7.0 in the vette can pull 26mpg and makes 560+ rwhp. Better econ then my ecoboost with its crappy 19.1 avg

In what gear, RPM and speed does it make 26 MPG?

Edit: I should also add that my '11 6.2 trumps my '04 5.4 on MPG's all day. Even with a heavy foot.

The Cobra in my Sig pulls down 25mpg at 70mph, because it is in a car with light weight and pretty good aero, but not as light or aerodynamic as that vette. Now, start using Tue power around town, and that number drops quick......

Probably because the Vette weighs about 2500 lbs. less and doesn't have the aerodynamics of a brick like the F150.

You are right. But Ford also never put a v10 in the 1/2 ton. They finally woke up. If the would pull their head further out and make it a 4 valve and unleash it.... the thought of it makes my taint tingle.
