power upgrades
Completely stock 07 5.4, 3.55 gears, 2 wd, S cab w/6.5 ft. bed.
I'm pulling a 5000 lbs. camping trailier and would like to purchase bolt-on parts to get more power and mpg.
I'm thinking cold air induction. Power chip or Programmer, I think I would want to switch between reg. & prem. fuel (is the programmer cost effective, can it be changed as parts are added?). Mass air sensor and throttle body spacer. Exhaust of some type, The sound doesn't matter its the power.
I would like to also put a larger fuel tank in or in bed auxilliary tank.
I'll be adding these items as my budget permits. I've been to a bunch of different web sites and they all claim to be the best. What do you guys/gals think?
THANKS FOR ANY HELP

freezin welcome to the site and yes with a programmer you can switch between modes; performance, towing, etc. I have a 08 F150 4x4 SC w/5.4 and I have an X3, AF1 3.5 intake system, and Troyer Performance dyno tuning. I picked up 44 RWHP with that set up. Since then I have added a Roush SIDO cat back exhaust. And yes you can change the programming on the X2's or X3's as you add the parts which is what I recommend. Oh, from what I have gathered don't waste your money on the TB spacer or MAS.

Let me be the second to HIGHLY recommend Troyer custom tuning. Mike specializes in custom tuning the F150's. I'd recommend getting the 3" Air Force 1 CAI from Troyer also. Reason I recommend the 3" tube is because you can run it with your stock tune, with the 3.5" tube you can't. If you want to return your truck to the stock tune then you need to remove the AF1 and reinstall the stock intake.
