2018 F-150 Limited 4x4 with Bakflip MX4 cover, AMP tailgate extender, husky liners........lol, it was an early Xmas present to myself actually. Santa didn't bring me anything for my truck but I bought a few new toys for it the day before Xmas.

The instructions say it doesn't and you only have to turn it "off" when you take it to the dealership. It's very easy to plug / unplug, so I'd be inclined to just unplug it and leave it tie wrapped up under the dash where I mounted it.
