Default underdrive pulleys

Does anyone have aftermarket underdrive pulleys on their truck? If so what do you think about them?

I was looking at those things too. If they really work well then theyre a freakin bargain. I was also looking at possibly an electric fan as well to conserve a little power.

I know alot of people used to put them on the 5.0 mustangs, and they worked, so why not a truck. I saw them for around $199 I think on www.summitracing.com. What is the electric fan for? Is that in place of the belt driven one?

Default electric fan

in regards to the fan:

Yeah, electric is supposed to be more efficient than using your engine to turn the fan. I dont know for sure, but they do that to a lot of cars now days... they must do it for a reason right?

I dont know if Im nuts about slowing down my water pump... Id imagine that would be a bad thing. Wouldnt the engine overheat easier if youre towing or hauling?

The A/C compressor and alternator and such I can understand... but Id be leery of doing that to my water pump!

What do you all think?

I used to own a 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra. I put underdrive pulleys on it. You will see an increase in horspower and torque. Also if you change from a belt driven fan to an electric fan you will also see an increase in horsepower and torque. This is due to freeing up power that is lost from the stock pulleys and belt fan. The power increase was noticable on my mustang.

All those are the reasons I'm not thinking about doing it to mine. Fans are good but I don't like slowing all my accessories changing pulley sizes.
