A gryphon is just a custom tuned edge done by Power Hungry Performance

I went with the Edge for the gauges. I don't like the idea of my tuner unit being completely useless after installing the tune.

what did you notice when you got the edge? because right now my tranny shifts HARD from 1 to 2nd gear. also i dont want to blow anything and what tune do you run for everyday but still gives you the power for fun but still good eco. ive read alot of people are running lvl 2. i will soon be buying a throttle body spacer but dont know which one to get yet and also a volant cai with the ram air scoop. have you herd good about them i like how they are a closed box vs k&n.

what are the pros and cons of the sct vs the edge or the gryphon im really torn on which to get. because the edge is about 285 and the regular sct is 325 and thats not the livewire

The PHP Gryphon and Edge are physically the same product and they both have the dash mounted pods with digital read outs.

but what sets them apart really because im looking at doing volant cai and throttle body spacer and i also have true dual exhaust 40 series exhaust. do i by the edge programmer then send it to gryphon or do i call them and tell gryphon what i have and they go from there???

did you have to buy it from edge first or can you order it from then and you tell them what you have done to your truck and they tune it from there?

First off, PHP only does the custom tunes for the Edge Evo. So if you buy any of the other Edge Programmers and your intent is to eventually get custom tunes, your S.O.L. Secondly, you can buy a Gryphon with "canned" tunes directly from PHP and get a discount when you decide which custom tunes you want. IF you buy the Edge Evo and then want custom tunes for it from PHP it will be considerably more in cost. The Gryphon is based on the Edge Evo, identical looking and both have THEIR canned tunes. I would suggest you go to the Edge website, PHP website and use the search function on this site. This subject has been beat to death and the answers to these questions have been answered multiple times x 10. All it takes is a little research and reading.

Any real benefit to custom tunes on a stock FX4 5.0 V8 with no exhaust/intake upgrades.

Or just stick with the canned tunes on the SCT SF3?

And should I really consider switching to premium gas?

This is my daily driver, so MPG increase would be a bonus, although I still want better throttle response etc etc when needed.

ive been reading alot about the edge but i cant really find much about the gryphon for some reason. i see that edge will make it run lean but they say the gryphon canned tunes are better than what edge has put out. im buying a CAI soon and wanted to run it before i got the tuner so ive been trying to figure out which to get.

I have an older SCT livewire that I had used on my 08 sport trac, can it be used on my new 2013 F-150 6.2L v8? If so, who makes a reliable tune for 87-89 octane that is mainly there to provide quicker throttle response and shifting?

Thanks!
