Tuner/Programmers
I'd like to know as well, I would prefer the versatility of real software and an OBDII adapter over dedicated hardware.

I put the edge evolution in my truck (05 f150 4x4) on a friday evening and by sunday afternoon my tranny was gone. i know turning the shift firmness and rev limiter all the way up dont help, but it still sucks. i did have some tranny problems before the programmer. i guess this just means its time to build it stronger.
p.s. the truck was a lot faster on level 3

I have the Super Chips Flashpaq on my 5.4 Lincoln Blackwood using the tow tune added 20'' Harley wheels the tuner is adjustable to them, the USB cable included enables updated on my computer, found the performance to be very pleasing shifts are a lot more crisp and the milage is improved when I get the smile off my face AND Slow Down ... Easy to Install plug and play instant improvments great bang for the buck...Customer Service is excellant when I called them about downloading....and another few questions.
What do you think about the so called performance chip? I mean the resister that you could buy at radio shack for less than a dollar? I can understand how it could work. It could lean your fuel out and could save you some fuel, just like changing the jets on a carbourated engine from a larger one to a smaller one. But wouldn't that hurt your power not help it? Or does it change the air to fuel ratio to more fuel and increase power but decrease fuel economy. But at the same time could give it more fuel and require you not to have to push the pedal as far to go as fast and save you fuel plus acquire you with more power? And of course if it does I'm sure its only 1-3 MPG and somewhere around 10-20 HP...
I've heard some bad reviews about the hypertech programmer. I went to check some out yesterday and found the hypertech on sale so I decided to go for it. Now I have nothing to compare it too but I immediately noticed an incredible difference in power and torque in my 08 5.4 . I couldn't be happier. Haven't been able to check mpg yet
I have a hypertech max energy on my 08 4.6l 2v. I think they are a waste of money. I have mine set on premium fuel +500rpm rev limiter, +300rpm from 1st-2nd, +300rpm 2nd-3rd, and + 400rpm 3rd-4th. Shift firmness 100% Other than a firmer shift and it winding up more between shifts. I can't tell that it even done anything. It falls on its face when i hit even a slight grade. I put 285/70/17 tires to replace the stock 255/70/17. With 3:55 gears I need more power. According to all these threads the Edge evo seems to be the way to go. I'm more than likley going to ditch the Hypertech and try the Edge.
