Ok. Update on MVP tune, the throttle is touchy and I mean touchy. Bumpy road trying to go slow, and the idle almost killed it. Due to throttle being being bounced. But it seems to run good when you want it to kick down. I am taking a trip this weekend, we will see how the highway and mileage does. Round town it actually went down, I believe this to be due to the tranny seems to start out in 1st, instead of 2nd like it seemed to with just the canned tune, could also be part of the reason for the touchy pedal.

Is there a unit that monitors trans temp while towing? Along with all the other benefits.

I just bought the edge cs model and disappointed because if you own a 97-09 f 150 the economy level option is not available and cannot be added to the levels. also the manual advised that you do not program your vehicle in a remote locations in case of vehicale failure. Well the power gain is very nice but I do not like that fact i have to pull over change the level turn off my truck and wait for about 8 min. I would rather buy some headers or other power add ons. who knows i might like it later on but want to return it. also i bought this for a 02 screw 5.4L

Hey I'm looking at getting a programmer but a friend of mine told me I shouldn't put one on a truck that has over 50,000 miles on it. He said something about the way the pistons start to wear after that. I don't know if that's true or not but I wanted to ask people on here. Thanks

Does anyone use 5star tuning for their Xcal3's in this forum? I have been in contact with them trying to figure out the best tuner to go with. Their prices are cheaper than VMP and you get free revisions to your tunes for life, not just the first 6 months or if you buy the mod from them. Other than email communication, I have no experience with VMP, Troyer or 5star but other forums speak very highly of Mike at 5star. Just like most in this forum speak highly of Justin at VMP. Please correct me if I am wrong, but when it comes to the tuner, as long as they know what they are doing the results should be the same.

SCT SF3.

I had an Evo... nice product but limiting. SCT SF3 has ability to tune 5 cars, hold 3 custom tunes on top of the 3 canned tunes (which are better than Evo's canned tunes, from experience), and I can act like a "sleeper" since you don't see this huge pod on my dash.

Loving my SF3 more and more w/ every tune I make...

Only one car can be "programmed" at a time. But you have 5 unlock keys. After each car you loose a "key".

If you own a heritage read on. I bought the 85150 after reading hundreds of posts about it but this never came up. I updated the device, plugged it in and it ran through the start up until reading the vin # and then it displayed a notice that the vehicle is not supported contact tech support…

So I contacted tech support and they had me update the device again which took over two hours of high speed firmware and calibration downloading. After the successful update I plugged it in and it ran and ran through vin #s before finally coming up with the same display, vehicle not supported.

Unfortunately tech support says they "checked the vin and found the problem."

“We do not have support for the 2004 F150 Heritage trucks. I suggest that you return the Evolution to the dealer you purchased it from for a refund.”

Bummer!
