Diablosport Predator 2 Platinum with 2018 F150
Hello all
Just thought I'd post this so noobs like myself doing research on tuners have something to see.
2018 F150 2.7L EcoBoost crewcab XL STX 4x4.
20x9 +18 offset MB wheels with Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/55/20.
Motofab 2 inch leveling kit, stock rear block
S&B enclosed CAI oiled filter
MBRP XP series cat back exhaust 4 inch
Diablosport predator 2 Platinum tuner: 87 octane economy tune.
Done a couple of weekends ago without Diablosport economy tune. Cruise control used for the entire run. Eco mode on.
Done this afternoon after Diablosport economy tune, same road (backroad highway with slight hills) same speed at about the same miles, Normal driving mode (eco mode off for the entire run). Cruise control used for the entire run.
Gain of 3.3 mpg.
Second run with Eco mode on the entire run.
I had to cut the second run short because 2 loaded semis pulled up in front of me. Will try the run again in the morning.
With the economy tune on normal drive mode, the truck is a beast! I was shocked that even in economy tune I was chirping tires shifting to third. Gears seem to want to hold at a higher rev rate, and don't want to drop to a lower gear so soon as it did in stock.
I do have a concern though. To get to this road, I traveled on a freeway for 24 miles and doing the speed limit of 80 mph. Although I did notice a slight mpg improvement (from 13.1 mpg to 13.9 mpg, very hilly freeway) I also noticed that the truck wanted to stay in 8th gear most of the time in those hilly areas (as opposed to stock tune which would downshift to 9 in stock tune). She did not want to get out of 8th until the road was completely flat. I don't know if that's part of the design of this tune, and it very well could be, but it concerns me nonetheless.
Anyways, this isnt scientific or anything, I just thought it might be good for someone who's thinking about it for their 2018 F150. So far, I'm impressed. But I will continue to test this tune and the rest of the Diablosport performance tunes in the real world.
I hope this helps someone.
Uodate: 09/30/2018: I do this 80 plus mile run every weekend to shop with the wife. This is a rolling start at 65mpg for 13 miles, transitioning to 75mph for 30 miles then 80mph for the rest of the highway trip. In pure stock truck form, i averaged 17.3mpg. With current truck setup without tune it dropped drastically from 14.9 to 15.4mpg. This run was also done with the front air dam off, which i heard steals a mile or 2 of mpg at freeway speeds. Dont know if thats true.
I'm completely impressed with this Diablosport predator 2 platinum tuner.

4 out of 5 stars for the S&B enclosed CAI. Sounds great. Looks great. Super easy install. Improved throttle response and power slightly. However, do not expect improved fuel economy. In fact, I lost about 1mpg at least. But it's fun stomping on the gas with this and the exhaust and tuner installed.

SuperChips Flashpaq 1868
Hi. I just wanted to make a post to let people know that the Flashpaq 1868 for '11-'12 EcoBoosts is no longer supported.
I realize it's an older unit, but there are still some for sale out there. I bought one second hand and it is completely useless.

2018-20 2.7 Recommendations?
There are so many tuners out there. Just wondering if you guys have a recommendation for a 2019 2.7L Ecoboost tuner? I mainly want to run 87 octane pump gas. Thanks

Feeling lost lol tuners and programmers
I have a 2013 f-150 3.5 tt ecoboost I been doing research on best programmer and I am not sure what the answer is. I read customers reviews they all say the same I see you tube videos on top 10 for the 2013 f-150 3.5 and they seem to be different for the forum and different from what I read on the web. So let's say I have just got my truck and I have the mod bug. So I need input and everything from Cia, exhaust, programmers, bov , and who does a great job at custom tunes so help me out please

I figured this would be the place to ask.
Got the SCT X4, Drove it on 93 canned tune for about 10days. Pretty nice and getting ready to order some Custom MPT tunes.
My first thought was to get;
93 Race, 93 Tow, and an adaptive octane tune. *Now that I have thought about, I might just get 1 tune - 93 Race ( or 2 tunes, 93 race & 93 Tow ).
My plan since its a 2014, likely am never changing it and if I tow, I can just put a canned tune in for the day or back to stock. I rarely if ever tow anything, & have hauled stuff in the bed, but not really towed anything and purchased it new back in 2015. Only keeping my truck another 2 years and the tuner is only good for 2011-2014 3.5 ecoboost.
Curious if everyone actually switches tunes or just sticks with one.

Your sct xcal
I have choose the sct xacl 4 as well and I got it from mpt tuning and I got all three maps you are talking about lol
I like the race tune I think it is called 93 psx race tune it is insane I love it but not for everyday huge difference in power compared the the canned tunes and for my everyday I use the 93 perf/tow and it is great daily thats what I have it one now. the 87 eco/perf is ok I don't really see much change in mpg and it is like only half the power of 93 perf/tow i think i did it right by having all three but if I had one to choose it would be 93 perf/tow
I do switch my tunes here and there around home 93 perf/tow on trips 87 eco because not everywhere has 93 oct and my race tune is when I am out looking for fun
