Superchips is a decent out of the box tuner with their preloaded tunes but SCT is by far the most popular brand for F series tuning so I would recommend a SCT X4 7015 over a Superchips or Edge tuner for a F-150.

I'm running SCT with 5 star custome tunes, would it be benefitial to do a relearn on the truck while running the tune? Also I noticed lagging throttle response when the engine is cold and will blow black smoke when it finally wakes up. Then runs normal no smoke when at normal operating temp. So i went back to stock tune and it all went away, blows alittle smoke but thats the direct injection I assume. Plugs are gapped to 30 but maybe they need to be changed out? Also have been using a catch can for a year. Truck has 42k miles. What do you think?

Is there a website of somewhere on the forum where custom tunes are being shared? I just purchased a 2010 Platinum with the 5.4 and ordered an Insight Pro CTS2. I am not adding anything more than CAI and exhaust. I realize the CTS2 Pro was probably overkill, but I was able to purchase it new, sealed in the box for $350, which to me is a good deal. I would like something similar to the canned tunes on the standard CTS2.

Thanks

Custom tunes don't quite work like that. You can't use somebody else's custom tunes as they are vehicle and PCM code specific.

it's crazy how much more difficult auto tuning is than motorcycles. I can sell a customer a $400 module, can get online and download generic tunes for their mods, attach an auto-tuner, set desired AF, and about 4 pulls later, it's more accurate than most custom dyno tunes.

Just received a BullyDog BDX. Logged about 300miles over the weekend with the canned tune for my 2016 5.0. Canned tune is pretty meh. I think the shifts are quicker, feels like Ive got more power above 3K rpm. Overall pretty underwhelming and that's at 91 octane. Probably not worth the $$$ or loss of Flex Fuel capability.

Just got the Omega Tune over the cloud today and will be loading in the am. Very excited.

Not sure if you have the eco for 5.0. The eco's are programmed to shut off the alternator to save on fuel. If you only take shorter trips the battery doesn't charge fast enough.
