I don't know, do you have a vin. Number as a guide? I will ask around, remember this is pretty new tech and only a few thousand trucks have been done world wide. I will saw Ford is really doing it very well. I want to put this drive line in a mustang. This will replace the v8 gas in a minute.

ok,
did a stock f150 crew 4x4 stock=286/390
after=357/482
if you do not do a tq. lock up first.

basically a 93 oct tune gains 50 whp and 100 ftlbs while picking up 1 mile per gallon.

Question

Skimming thru this thread, I see a lot info on later model F150s. I have a 2003 4.6L 4WD XL with a Uni air filter (stock box) and a Flowmaster dual outlet cat-back (I don't remember the model but it's the one that's a little quieter than the popular one they sold at the time).

Those are the only mods I care to do. It feels stronger from mid-range up and I don't expect anything will get me much of a gain down low with a 4.6L. I'm getting about 20 MPG at 70 MPH highway but at lower speeds (60-65), it doesn't seem quite as good as it should be. I have no complaints about power delivery but if programming gets me free mileage/power without sacrificing durability, I'll take it. My main complaint is the lag in down-shifting. It gets me in trouble sometimes when making split decisions.

So, what's the best programming still available (if any) for a 2003 4.6L? Again, I can live with it the way it is if I'd be giving up some of the reliability.

the program/tune is more important than the delivery device. jms/chip has great tunes and a few options to install. you decide what you want,power or mpg. getting a bunch of both is not reality. i use many different tools.

Ok,
With a tune with a cai.
369.9 whp/505.8 tq.@3000rpm
The high pressure pump and direct port injectors are at the limit. An aftermarket upgrade is in the works.
This is a 2013 4x4 crew. Mpg is 27 @45mph= cruse set. 17.4 mpg normal in town. Heavy footed 13.8 all on premium. The guys at Ford have set the bar very high. This is going to be the small block replacement. More power , less fuel and much longer service life .
A forged bottom end will be ~. 700hp?
Mustang fox body retro fit? We will see.
The next test is with a down pipe.
