Default Tuner/programmer Question

Well guys I am dumb founded on this; I read on a site that a guy was using a programmer on stick shift?!? Whats the point of that if any? Isn't that pretty much useless since you decide the shift points? please any info appreciated! And please correct me if im wrong

I tend to agree with you but you can get more hp/tq if you advance the timing

Tuner does much more then just shift points.

He used it for more hp/tq cause they also alter air to fuel ratio etc
