Default Exhaust for my 5.0

Well I decided to go with a new exhaust set up for my first mod but I'm kind of lost so I was hoping to get some suggestions. To start, I'm 19 and I know many won't agree with what I'm looking for but oh well. I'm looking to get something aggressive with very little to no cabin drone, a low rumble at start up but sounds mean when you step on the gas, and I'd like to still hear it a bit at speeds but nothing to where I'd have to scream to talk. One of my buddies just got turn downs on his but I've seen some bad reviews on them so I'm looking for something different. Thanks for any help.

Solo is what you are looking for

Stage3motorsports did video clips of every exhaust they carry for the 5.0 and posted them in a thread here

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I just went over to the local exhaust shop and talked with him a bit. I could run the flow master super 10 with 3-3.5" chrome tips for $330. Didn't sound like a bad deal to me... Any opinions?

if you keep the resonator it probably wont be to loud. but if you remove the resonator might as well be straight pipe.

Of coruse it sounds like a good deal, flowmasters are cheap crap. He will use rust-tastic aluminized steel, thats why it sound like a steal.

I would rather buy a catback that requires no welding and something i can do in about an hour....remember, tou get what you pay for.

You said you wanted little to no done, that is your worst option for drone.

I just had the borla s-type installed a few weeks ago on my 5.0, and it sounds exactly like what you are looking for.

I was going to say this is your best option, but if the price is too much you could just get a borla pro xs muffler and get a shop to custom bend the piping you want and install it.

I have a magnaflow on my 5.0 now with no resonator and it drones a little and gets an ugly cackle/rasp sound now too.

Talking Roush Exhaust Custom

Hey there,

Check out my photos and my truck... I am 22 and had the same desires, no drone and some rumble. I have a 5.0 FX4. Went with Roush. I tell ya, this exhaust growls at idle and I have had it for 8 months now and I still love hearing it fire up to this morning!

Couldn't be a bigger advocate of the exhaust, I have never heard a meaner growl on a 5.0. I have heard the Borla, Flowmaster and Solo. Not a huge fan in my opinion.

Any questions let me know... I have a youtube video of the sound at idle and revving. It of course doesn't do it justice, but may give you a sense of what you're getting into.
